View Full Version : What Is Your Best Memory Of Being At A Convention?

Masters

Well I just thought that I would start another thread on something I found most people enjoy attending and always willing to "kiss and tell" about...
What is your best or perhaps wildest memory from attending an adult convention or gathering?

Hey dude, dont do much posting anymore since about 1999. Found that it's easier to just call......hahahah.

My best moments was with you at the Florida Internext Expo this year.
Kissing that girl getting body painted was fucking great. Afterwards, I said your pretty hot girl. She said tell that to my husband. He's sitting right there......fuck me!!

Funny shit,

However, Dabro!
Would have fucked her anyway......

One of my best memories of a show would probably be Adultdex 99...
It was held at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas. I was with some people on the casino floor and just for a laugh on my way out the door, I put a dollar in a slot machine and won 98 dollars. :)
I never win! So that was a total fluke!

I'm at Magick and Bob's this weekend. She just told me a really sweet story of her first convention - Vegas '99. When she arrived in the lobby of the hotel, about 25 co-workers and such were there to meet her. Ain't that sweet! It usually takes me the first two days to track down any of my crew! Ha!

Damm it seems that 99 was the year for kick ass parties.

Let's make 2003 even fucking better.

Evil Chirs, 98 dollars is 98 dollars. Nice work for a buck.

Last time at Wiskey Petes at stateline, I won triple 7's three times on the same machine for $400.00 dollars each. I thought it's on.
Went into Vegas and never won again. They were waiting for me.....hahahah

It was fun anyway.

As for me, I gave this some long hard thought and keep coming up with so many good memories that I can't single just one out.

My favorite was was the first show in Miami, can't remember the name of that hotel, yet after being in the business for a couple years prior, it was the 1st time I actually came out in public to meet the people I saw posting on the boards. It was an amazing show for me and made me realize how into the business and nice everyone was

Another would be at AdultDex in New Orleans when Dokk actually interviewed me live on the air... though the interview only lasted a few minutes it was the best few minutes I had and best of all, the best opportunity to spend time with an pioneer...Dokk!

Again another would be when I talked my way up into JoeE's suite in New Orleans (a different show from the one above) and got to know him better which actually led to my, over two year, employment as director of sales with CEN. I am grateful for JoeE for having enough faith in me to allow me that opportunity and of course his partner for having the faith in me to do a good job as well.

In my opinion JoeE is a good man with a big heart and is one of the best and finest marketers I've met to date not to mention people as well.

One more would be the show before last in Vegas when I spent most of my nights with SweetT (National Net)and his crew partying out on the town... Sweet T and his crew are first class people to say the least.

There are tons more yet those are the ones that happen to stick out at this moment.

Keep on Rockin'

Hm... I've only ever been to the Westcoast Webmasters convention... this past July.
I still a tad wet behind the ears in the adult biz... and last year, I wasn't exactly the best person in the company to go... considering I had been there for like.. 2 months.

But anyway, now I am all set, and heading to Vegas in January.

So for a best memory... well, that still has yet to be determined... I look forward to making a lot of great memories :D

I am glad that many of you have good memories of some of my past shows. I really like the middle type show. Enough people and time, to do some really good business and yet, not the over crowding and a million people you don't know or never heard of. (and not sure you want to)

One of my best memories was on the last night of the New Orleans show in Nat Net Suite (more like a nightclup atop the hotel) I walked in the room and Dokk was spinning tunes and MFold was on the dance floor by himself. Deciding that it was time to let my hair down, I joined him. It was a very, very, long song and in the middle MFold decided to "moon" everyone. Thank god there were no cameras around...:-) It was one of those "you just had to be there" things.

As a reminder, online signups close Sunday. The script will come down around noon on Monday. Online it is $99, at the door it is $125. 'Ya snooze, ya lose"

Sharpie,
I was at that party up top floor that NatNet threw... It was a great one as Sweet T always knows how to throw a party. I also remember MFold on the dance floor but wasn;t it you that mooned everyone? ...lol, j/k

You know I love you and Dave, you are both great people. Your shows rock, and every CyberNet Expo show I attended, I always walked away with some good business deals.

Hmmmm.... my favorite convention experience....

Thats really hard because every convention has at least 10 completely unforgettable moments in time....

My first show pre-show party - I walk into the Nat Net Suite (before they moved it to the top floor) with Oz, Buran and Stephen. In somewhat of a daze, I walk around, introduce myself to a few people, try to fight my way through to the bar and back to where the guys are. All of a sudden this big beautiful blonde guy GRABS my arm, turns me around, hands me a shot, clicks my glass and says "cheers'! Stunned, I do the shot (it was whiskey ewwwww!) I must have made a horrible face because he laughed, picked me up in this big bear hug and introduced himself as YNOTBob.

Oh oh oh ... okay, this one is kinda funny/embarrassing ....

Same show, New Orleans Cybernet I go out with RRRed and a bunch of other people in a limo (my first time in a limo!) ... we are cruisin the town and people are being introduced around.

We stop and pick up this guy and a couple of chicks and I dont even remembernow who introduced me, but the guy we picked up was RB from MaxCash. I was completely flabbergasted.

This was the first "name" I had really heard in entering the biz and here I was cruisin around in a limo with him!! I called another friend whose first show it was and was like "you are NEVER going to believe this!!" RB grabs the phone, asks who he is talking to, tells them to get in a cab and come down to this bar we were just stopping at. He then hands me back the phone after talking for a few more minutes.

RB must have thought that I was a complete idiot, because the entire time I was in the limo I was just like "duuuuuuuuh, your RB!" hahahahahahahaha

Needless to say, I got over my hero worship of the "names" in this biz fairly quickly..... I found they are people just like us, but with more money hehehehehe

Twinkley,
At my first show in Miami, way back when, one mornin' I caught a ride in a limo over to the convention where the show was being held. Little that I knew that Aly & RB were in the same limo... it was MaxCash's limo...

Unfortunately I found this out about a year later... lol

This thread makes me very nostalgic....

I have had SO MANY great experiences because of this industry and the people in it. I have done things and been places I never would have dreamed of doing. I have been in a helicopter race, climbed waterfalls, been to some of the hottest clubs on earth (and walked past the line at the door) met movie stars, comidians, music stars. Hell, I have heard snoop Dogg play live twice, and Digital Underground at least 3 times! I have been too Las Vegas so many times I complain about it. But really, I am always very happy because I *can* go!

It's amazing - I have friends all over the world now. Going on a trip? Just put out a call to the boards to see who your gonna be partying with there!

It's pretty damn cool :)

Okay, well, now that Im done with my little rant, I suppose I should get back to work hehe

Mark,
Hey bro great to see you out and about. Thanks for stopping in :)
Those tours you made really kick a*^ man and are converting great.
I'll be sending more work your way for sure.

Twinkley, Great stories and though I haven't done as much as you... I have done more than I normally would have not being in this business.
Your stories are great and well described.

Just as you, one of the best parts I like about the business is all the great people you meet and the open ending and minded attitude they have.

Oh, btw... you really sound great on pillow talk... You put on a great show!

Thanks Mark,
I remember when I first met you. It was at the Miami show years ago. I happen to run into you on the showroom floor and after that it seemed like we keep bumping into each other quite a few times afterwards.

What a show that was. First time I did an interview live online with AVN. I believe that was actually the last privately owned show before AVN took the operation and rights over. From there it just boomed into a more massive sized show with AVN in charge.

Anyway, I met allot of good people at that show, which most all of them are still around and our paths have crossed many times since then with quite a few of them.

The last Internext show in vegas, my friend who i went with shows up back at the room at 9:30am, with his pants ripped on the inner seam from one ankle all the way up and down the other leg to the knee. All he remembers is walking around without his shoes on in the parking garage of the imperial palace, then waking up in a room that he purchased around 4am (we were staying at ceasars). also he said at some point security at the imperial palace returned his shoes to him from the parking garage. we don't know what happened to this day. :glugglug:

Twinkley I was there to share in some of those great moments with you.

Remember this fun time we shared together ????

Cybernet Expo Miami 2001 The fire alarm going off at 3 am we ran out the door in our Pj's I was f$%^ked up that night folks. Ran out the door barefoot hmmm even though my shoes were right by the door and I even looked at them on the way out. Grabbed My precious cell phone but failed to grab my purse with all of my credit cards, Id , and money DUH. Flew down the stairs in a panic with all the other drunk people freakin out. intead of the stairs letting us out in a nice place we ended up in an alley with glass all over the ground! (remember we were barefoot). Then we walk a BLOCK on the side of a busy road to the front of the hotel !! Good lord we had to walk through the lobby in our pj's!! very embarrasing hehe. All I could remember thinking is Thank GOD Ynot Bob did not see us he would have laughed his ass off at us.

And what do you know some idiot had pulled the alarm as a prank. Call us dumb but being on the 4th floor we wernet taking any chances.

I can remember Evil Chris coming and sitting down next to me in Montreal and because I recognised him from a previous convention pic I just kept saying.."Its Evil Chris! For as long as we've known each other I must say that it's been a pleasure during each of our conversations. You're just one of those people that you could never run out of things to talk about.

I DO remember that!

We hadn't been in bed 15 minutes when that thing went off. I was totally together (my momma woulda been proud) - I grabbed my purse (forgot my shoes too) and hauled ass outta there. We were on the 6th floor!

We helped a whole bunch of people out to the street - guiding them through the glass and shit - ended up filing a formal complaint with the hotel for that!

The funniests thing was, Connor and Buran slept right through it!

Hahahahaha - Then sneaking inside through the main building PRAYING that no one saw us in out PJ's,. totally without makeup, wrecked at 4am.

I remember the fire at the 43rd floor of the Sheraton at the New Orleans show a couple years ago....... it was so smokey and about 2am. I was awaken by the fire alarm thinking it was a joke...but I went out in my hallway and realized it was real. I walked down 43 flights of stairs in my underwear...when I got to the outside sidewalk, I ran into all kinds of people I knew. Funny thing is, nobody realized I was walking around in my underwear.

new orleans is crazy man.

twinkley
11-25-2002, 01:32 PM
I had to wonder if it was real, how many people would have been hurt.

Easily half the people in the hotel (maybe more) just went on sleeping through it - it was not all that loud, and if we hadn't just come in a couple of minutes before, I never would have heard it....

I dont mess with fire - esp. on a high floor

I remember one time in Vegas, about 2 years ago, I was at this party up in the Mirage... Had just flown in that day, got no sleep and was still up at it at 2:00 am. I also remember not eating much at all that day, and being upset that I didn't even eat dinner. Well needless to say I was up in the Mirage just coming from Cartoonbucks party, and only had maybe 2 drinks in like 4 hours time. Anyways, I'll get to the point, I remember going up into the Mirage presendential suite, which was about the size of my walkin closet, with RogerV, Aaron and some other people and as soon as I walked in it was not only packed to the hilt yet, dark and hot. It looked like ripleys believe it or not was there seeing how many people they could fit into the smallest suite. I met BobbyR and he turned me on to a nice smoke. Suck the whole thing down in about 2 seconds and as I was chatting with one of two GBP linebackers I started feeling dizzy. Having claustrophobia, not eating, not sleeping and sucking that smoke down must have all started to take effect on me... I excused my self to get out into, what I remember, a really cool hallway. As I was trying to make it to the door the walls closed in... I turned pale white, so people say, and fell straight back like a 2x6.

After I was carried into the hallway I awoke and started feeling better. Proceeded downstairs and in passing the circularcasino bar I stopped, had a double or triple scotch... caught a cab and literally slept for a day.

I missed Evans pajama party and the whole next day of the show.

In Miami about at this last show the same thing happened, I had just come from the Insite suite where BobbyR and a few other people were and upon feeling dizzy I said good night and passed out in the elevator really cutting up my face from my glasses. The time was about 2 am as well!

I finally figured it out... No sleep, no food, and running on very little energy... I am hypoglycemic.

Either that or BobbyR is possesed...lol

I've only been to handful of shows so far but my first the Miami show the August before this last one was very special. I was so nervous, I think I said 5 words the whole time.

The last night of the show I met this amazing guy hanging out on the boardwalk we talked until the early hours of the morning before his flight. We talked about life, photography and almost anything you can think of. I found it amazing to meet someone and click like that. I'm glad it was my first show it was a wonderful time and a great memory. And he made a shy lady feel really good about her work and what she was doing.:)
