ATLANTA—With matchmaking becoming big business in cyberspace, DateApp.com released Prepaid Date, a card offering personal security for potential online and telephone dating customers and 30% margins to retailers offering the card at their online or brick-and-mortar stores.
"Ninety percent of consumers polled said they would try online/telephone dating if they didn’t have to use their credit card online," said DateApp.com chief executive officer John-Michael Cataldi.
With Prepaid Date, a potential online or telephone dater can connect by area code and have access to instant messaging, text and video chat, Live Connect, picture/video profiles, astrological forecasts, voice mail, member searches, listings of local events, and even personality tests.
Prepaid Date cards are offered at $19.95 for thirty days of Web access or one hundred minutes of telephone access or $49.95 for ninety days' of Web access and 250 minutes' of telephone access.
DateApp is expected to release Prepaid Date cards in the North East in April 2005. With as many as 25% of the new portals requesting special “ethnic” themed or international language options, it is no wonder DateApp has taken these steps to insure International users as many options as possible.
Retailers who put Prepaid Date into their stores can enjoy First Mover advantage, they can negotiate private labels and celebrity/media partnerships.
