Rumors of American Idol finalist Anwar Robinson's sexual orientation have been circling for awhile, but AfterElton.com has unearthed a personal ad that should help settle the issue: a quick search of African American community site BlackPlanet.com's personal ads for men-seeking-men in New Jersey brings up a profile for Anwar Robinson, clearly identifiable from photos (the same photos which have also been used on a few of his fan sites).

it just shouldnt matter, but of course the press are going to have a field day and now if he really had a legitimate chance to win, the controversy alone could damage that...
but I say again it just shouldnt matter!

of course it shoudnt - but the producers are going to know that in their minds - parents may fear having their kids IDOLise the singers - and do they really want america to have a gay idol?? someone that kids would want to strive for?? or even mimmick?

There is someone always digging up shit:

Scott Savol:

Scott Savol to remain on ‘American Idol,’ despite past legal troubles

SHAKER HEIGHTS -- “American Idol” finalist Scott Savol was once arrested after a confrontation with his son’s mother in Ohio.

The record won’t cost the singer his shot at stardom.

Several past contestants have been booted from the show for not disclosing arrests. Fox says that Savol was honest to producers and the network about the misdemeanor disorderly conduct conviction.

Shaker Heights police documents posted on The Smoking Gun Web site say the 28-year-old had a confrontation with Michele Martin in 2001. Police in the Cleveland suburb reported the couple had agreed to separate, but when Savol arrived to collect his belongings he called Martin names and threatened to take their son.

The report says he shoved her and threw the phone at her chest when she threatened to call police.
