What an awful weekend...Ryan was rushed to the children's hospital on saturday and spent the night there... :( he was diagnosed with the croup. We took him home Sunday afternoon and are keeping a close eye on him...We're not out of the woods yet...

Awe... The poor little guy! My brother had croup when he was a kid. I know exactly what you guys are going through. At night is the worst. If he has an attack, run a hot shower and let the bathroom fog up and then sit with him in the bathroom for a bit and let him breathe in the steam.

Yes it's not easy seeing your child with and IV an oxygen mask...Were going to see the Doctor again this afternoon. The shower is a great idea, thanks Jen!

Let's just hope the doctor has good news for us this afternoon! :)

I never even heard of croup, I had to google it. Its never easy when the little ones get sick, kids always seem to handle it a lot better than adults. Hopefully he will get better soon and be his sweet adorable self in no time.

Croup (http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/croup.html)

It's not fun for anyone. Nights are the worst. You sit and listen to the breathing and it sounds terrible. But once they wake up and are upright for 20 minutes or so, you'd think they're hardly sick.

Yeah it is pretty horrible. Once you hear it, it's a sound you'll never forget. I pity the little guy. I can remember the hell my brother went through.

The steam from the shower really does work. That and if you prop him up with pillows so he's almost sitting upright when he sleeps.

shit, well at least you know what it is now. And FB you're right, seeing your little one with an oxygen mask and an IV is not a pretty sight. My friend works at the children's as a nurse and I can't believe what she sees sometimes. I wouldn't be able to do what she does.

Ryan is a new person today! He's feeling much better, he's still coughing a bit and he's a bit grumpy but I recognize my little prince! :p
