The stray kitten that I've been taking care of and adopted into my home, well it turns out the kitten is not a stray afterall. The cat actually belongs to one of the neighbors.

The 2 kittens were sitting at the back door side by side watching the kids play outside. It turns out where this little girl, probably about 5 years old, notices the kitten. She must've said something to her mom. Well, I was putting the dishes away and there was a knock at the door. The mother explains to me that the kitten is actually theirs. They were both so excited that the kitten was actually ok.

So I tried to explain to the lady that I thought the kitten was a stray because it came to my house twice to be fed even before I decided to take it in. The cat was wearing no collar and hollering it's little lungs out because it was hungry. Both times, it just ate like a little pig, so after the second time, I left the kitten in the house.

It was a wasted conversation though, because the lady is French with poor English and I'm English with poor French. LOL! Anyway, they took the kitten and thanked me for taking care of it. They weren't upset, they were just relieved because the kitten wasn't road kill or had run off for good.

So, I'm a little bummed because I actually got attached to this kitten. It only lived with me for 5 days, but it was like I was it's mom. The kitten followed me around everywhere and I spoiled the little bugger rotten, just like I do my kitten.

I just hope from this point forward, they take better care of the kitten.

The kitten will remember you and your kind nature and run away again over to stay at your place :)

What you should have done like any American is to tell her to sue you :bonk:
Just kidding but at least look at it this way, the kitten was lucky enough to have someone as caring as you take care of it.
Could have ended in the wrong hands so in a way you were like an angel sent to care for the kitten while in time of need.

oh! I know how you must feel Jen..I'm sorry. If you want you can come visit Buddy & Tiki :) anytime you want! It's too bad most people aren't as caring as you when animals are concerned...What you did was great...Maybe someone will get you a new kitty...You never know! ;) (BTW, a lady on my street has kittens that should be good to go home in the next few weeks... :) )

Thanks guys for the kind words. :) I just needed to vent a little bit. I think more than anything, I was bothered by the fact that these people didn't take care of the kitten in the first place or it wouldn't have been crying at my door.

At least now I know the kitten is ok and they did seem really happy that the kitten was still alive. Maybe now, they will pay more attention to where it is and feed it on a regular schedule.

And FB... I'll be sure to come visit Buddy and meet little Tiki! You know I have a soft spot for Buddy. He's just so cool and lovable. LOL! :D

Oh and my little Angelie, seems a little too excited that the other kitten is gone. LOL! She was not nasty to the kitten at all, but you could see it in her eyes that she was pissed when she wanted to sleep in one of her favorite spots and the kitten claimed the spot first.

You can always invite the kitten on your pad for dinner if you want. I think she likes the food their better than the owner serves to her.
