Comes out tomorrow reminds me a lot of deliverance....A great movie I hope it's scary! :D Anyone hear of it?
(It's a remake from 1977)

I've seen a lot of commercials for it, FB. It will most likely be scary with a higher "gross" factor than the original, which I didn't see, but all remakes lately seem to make use of the improvements (?) in special effects.
After seeing "The Grudge" together, my youngest - a definite horror movie afficionada - and I watched the original Japanese movie. Now, *that* one scared the heck out of both of us. It also had a lot of sub-plots that were left out of the remake.
I wish Hollywood would get centered on the difference between "scary" and "gross." It would improve their horror movie output considerably.
I remember an episode of "Criminal Minds" that reminded me of a Frankenstein movie that scared me as a child. The bad guy in "Criminal Minds" was standing watching the house in the middle of the day...in the bright sunshine. That's what made it so scary. The sunshine is supposed to drive *away* the monsters...and when it doesn't....yikes.

I kept thinking of the originl when I was parked in the wastleland of Manitoba with the family in an RV last summer....

Actually that is not me in the pic much to everyones annoyance :) It was some twink I paid $20 bucks to in Whistler to take a shot with the guys, saying it was for a website and we are doing the "world tour of the hat" :)
I really am like a lowland gorilla and the only ones who can confirm that are Trev, Nick, Technick, Leedsfan and Damon :) maybe one other lol

Ok so I'm officially going and I promise to post my comments after...I'm a huge gore/horror/thriller fan I was EXTREMELY excited when I saw the previews for HOSTEL (http://www.hostelfilm.com/) but I was disapointed (ok maybe the fact that I looked at spoilers may have had something to do with it...) Anyway I just miss the old classic kind of horror movies! :huh: Don't you?

Ok verdict is in I give it an 8/10...Wasn't very scary I just think what freaked me out was putting myself in the position of these people...Yeah I know I'm a geek, but I REALLY get into the movies I watch...
A lot of blood, creepy characters, very violent, etc. It's a bit over the top but it's the way we like it! Reminded me of Saw and texas chainsaw massacre. I jumped out of my seat so many times!!!
I recommend it! Driving home was really weird I kept looking in my rear view mirror (As if something was going to pop out of nowhere)
