I was shocked to hear that tonight was the premiere for The Bachelorette, Celebrity Mole, Star search and God knows what else :rolleyes:

I think it's getting to be a bit too much...We live "reality" every day of our lives and somehow we seem to enjoy watching total strangers do the things that we do ourselves almost every day. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE fan of Big Brother and Survivor, but everything on TV now seems to be about reality :asleep: What about good old fashion fantasy??? (Not talking about sexual fantasy either ;) )

While the cats away.. the mouse watches tv huh? lol!

I never watch any of those shows.. I rather watch the news. Since its reality I might as well watch what happened that day.

Actually in the last couple of months I've watched a couple of episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and that's about it. There's little or nothing that I find interesting. Never watched the batchelor and I always hated Star Search. The Celebrity Mole thing sounds semi-interesting but it's pretty doubtful that I'll watch it. In general I'm bored to tears with reality shows. I never watched an episode of Survivor after the first 2. Anyway they aren't really reality shows. They are what the producers thing you might find interesting out of all the boring crap that really goes on. And I really hate that they edit things in such a way as to distort the truth. I was right pissed off with the second Survivor because of that. All the previous episodes were edited to make that Tina chick look like a pretty decent person and at the end you find out that she was a scheming bitch the whole time and she made a deal with the second prize winner right at the start. In fact all they showed of her was the parts where she was lying. Edited reality is less than boring to me.

FunB and I are big fans of the reality type shows... but I have to agree with her that there are way too many of them coming out now, and I just hope that the bunch of them don't ruin it for the few that are really good.
I personally think that Survivor and Big Brother are the best ones I've seen to date. (Boot Camp was pretty good too) :D

I never was a real fan of any of the reality shows. Ok maybe except for fear factor and couple amazing race shows, but besodes that never got into it. May be reality show but still did not come across as too real. Still seemed like the peopel had nothign to worry about.

But in any case, to each their own. :bonk:

I don't think I've watched a single episode of any of the reality shows. They just don't do a thing for me. Jerry Springer really seems more honest than most of them.

I can't sit in front of the tv.. there is never anything much worth watching. though if you're up late enough some good things usually show on travel and discovery... FunB.. have you ever read The Celestine Prophecy? I never found a book I couldn't put down, this one has me.. maybe if you find your way into a book store you should pick it up- great book!

I was already pissin and moanin when they first started Survivor, it would have been cool if they did one season, but noooooooooo:badcomp: CBS had to do it again and again and again, and then it lost its glorly, Fear Factor is alright, I watch it barely, when ther is alot of cleavege....:D but yeah, I think it is the TV world's way of spitting at cupids wings by having these elimidates, and bachelor this and bachelorette that, who needs TV to get married, and do you think for a second, any of those women would stay with that guy afterwards??? I'm sure they had to sign contracts and agreements to stay with the dude after the show for publicity of the perfect 'hook up'..

And I'm Spent!::-|

Aria, I have read The Celistine Prophecy by James Redfield 3 times and think it is a great book, I have similar yet different books I love to read.

I would also recommend The Alchemist by Paulo Coaleho.:)

Ok, so I watched the Bacherlorette last night and That's NOT a reality show! Where is this world do you find a hot single woman having to pick between 25 HOT (OMG!!!) single guys??? Please tell me!

Anyway, it was amusing...It's nice to see a women in complete control for once! This may sound mean, but I can't wait to see the guys cry when they're rejected! :bum:

I liked Fear Factor for the first few episodes but it got kind of old for me. The first time you see people eat a pigs rectum it's gross enough to be interesting. But there seems to be a limited number of things for them to do on the show. Have they done a celebrity fear factor yet? Now that would be cool.

Well, they did a show with playmates...During the last SuperBowl I think! That's not really celebrities, but it's still nice to look at :D
