Hey all .. I thought i'd share and see what people thought of this Niche .. I've been experimenting with Muscular women for erotica photoghraphy .... Another of my personal projects in exploring the female form in all it's different splendors.

This Next model in the series is Lana Lee Smith ... an Amatuer Muscular model and webmaster (her and her Webmaster join Xnations about a month ago) ... this particular shoot was done specifically for "WebDreams" A Reality TV show based on the lifes of Online Adult Industry People, such as myself. Some of you might remember the 2much.net crew and Joinrightnow.com's Dugmor did this very show for it's first season. Now I've accepted to be shot for season 2.

Anyhow enough of the mumbo jumbo .. I really had no clue what to do for this shoot so I winged it, as best I know how.

What are your thoughts ?

Honestly it does nothing for me. I don't think body-building is attractive for either sex.

Since when is Tangerine Dream into this?

Vid you are on the next WebDreams? That is awesome, I loved the first season.

Awesome pics, is Lana Lee a professional bodybuilder? I've always been fascinated by body builders, male of female. The dedication they put into their physiques is unbelievable.

It's nice to see you take pics of different body types for a change Vid! ;)

Don't like her new look, makes her look too masculin...But the pics are great, Since when is she into body building?

I don't like how body builders look. I really like the Tangerine pictures. They are great because she is very expressive. I'm not so fond of the Lana pic because she looks like she is not very happy. I'd prefer if she has a more sensual look on her face... This is for porn after all...

Sophie.

P.S.: I'll be in Season 2 of Webdreams too! :)

Tangerine started this a little over a year ago .. her body has gone thru some major chances .. and I think they loook awesome on her .. she's still able to pull of sexy ..

I too am not a fan of female body building .. but I do adore the female form so I thought it might be a good experience to learn more about this niche.

I completely agree with you .. Lana was a very different experience to shoot .. On my first meeting with lana . .I found her to be with drawn .. some what mecanical ... During the first meeting I had called her in for a Casting session. During which I throroughly interviewed her. Then we moved into the studio for casting pics. I asked her to remove her clothing ... I was a bit shocked to ssay the least .. Her pale skin and smal frame didn't seem condusive to a bodybuilder .. also her Posing wasn't very sentual. I knew this would be somehting I'd need to explore on her first photoshoot. That was yesterday .. During her make up session, I quickly releazed that she doesn't have female sentuality. I'm sure that behind closed dorrs she might exsert some sort of female sexuality .. but I wasn't getting that talking to her .. looking at how she sat and stood told me that she' would be difficult to pose .. and she was ... the shoot didn't go as I planned and for the first time I truly beleive I wasn't able to capture the Essence of her sexuality .. I am pretty dissapointed in this shoot .. More pics of the shoot are coming

it was a very difficult shoot for me .. Mainly cus I didn't know how to pose her .. and she really didn't have any poses or any suggestions of her own to implement.

Not one of my favorite shoots ....

There is something to be said about having a Vision before a model even shows up .. With the tangerine shoot, I saw the pics before I even set up the lighting ... But for Lana I had no such luck .... I'd like to give Lana another try, Since I feel I really didn't do her justice .. However I had no idea on how I could shoot her .. other then Serious Hardcore fetish .. Like Bondage with a Gaz mask .. type .. or something straight out of Tank girl ....

I did have one Idea yeaterday, but because of the Webdream Camera I Didn't view my opinion in lue of sounding stupid .. Here goes ... I thought If I made her up in A giesha make up .. with the Kimono .. A slow reviel photoset might of done the trick on this one .. Does anyone else see the Kiesha thing on her???

Ok, here's what I think. May be a bit direct but I have experienced the same thing as a photographer...

well, first, I definately see a better, softer make-up. The black eyes and the undefined lips don't do much for her. Also, the hair, although I know bodybuilders usually wear their hair up to show everything, should be less severly styled. Something softer, more sensuous would be more appropriate, just to soften her face a bit. I'm sure it would help.

Also, I think I know why she has such a rigid face... I think it is because she is concentrating too much on flexing the muscles. If I were you, I'd try to get her to pose without flexing. I'd also ask her to pose for portraits, just the face, to concentrate on that and make sure she relaxes a lot and see what face looks best for her. Do you know what I mean? With Angelique, we did that at the beginning because she wasn't as comfortable as she is now and her face looked goofy at the beginning. Now, she knows exactly what to do and 95% of her pics turn out fantastic!

Practice makes perfect!

Sophie.

dude - honestly - and I say this despite the fact that these testosterone teases do nothing for me down where it counts - I think the pics are potent and powerful - because of the physiques and the mix of traditional male forms with female (breasts etc.) - as well as the stark black backgrounds and sidelighting - might not come off as porn but will strike a cord with people I know and just a treat to look at (like those rubberized superamazons or something - hyper sexual or something - like Heavy Metal erotica).

Keep it up!

I am sure there is a niche for it, but personally I am all for being fit, but for me that is too fit.

I find they have lost their feminity.

I fear that I've met my match with Lana .. I couldn't get her to react properly for the pics ... Iether I lost my touch or it just wasn't ment to be ...

She seemed to miss the grace that I'm used to getting from models

Ive been training since I was 16.. I think muscles in the right "amount" look good on both women and men. I remember In 1994 or 1995 I think, The "muscle mag" Flex Magazine started photo series with female bodybuilders and fitness babes posing in sexy bikinis and what not.. Most of the women that usually looked too "hardcore", looked really sexy in those series.. I got surprised myself that I liked some of those muscle women in the series, which I didnt like before. I think alot of it has to do with what she wears, the location or how the studio is setup and ofcourse the model herself.. It takes alot both from the photographer and the model to bring out that "sexiness". That first pic of her is so dark and she doesnt look happy nor sexy. Her "posing" isnt that sexy/hot either. Looks like something from a wrestling magazine and not a "sexy" shoot.. I bet you could make her look alot sexier by maybe making the shoot alot lighter, having good make up, making her smile and try around with diffirent poses to see which ones are her strenghts where she looks sexy, etc, etc..

I see this as a challenge bro! Take her back into the studio, change things around and do your best to make it all look sexy and hot! :-)

Thanks for the comment ..
She's very very pale skinned .. which I find hard to light (hense the darker lighting) Also she's not very cut not at all, just mass. So I opted for harsher shadows to bring out what ever cuts she might have .. Notice the tangerine pics, The harxh shadows and darker lighting works for her ... I need to think abotu this much more before I bring her back to the studio ...

Thanks for the support ...

Vid...reacting as a writer, not a photographer, I thought about the Geisha thing. The transition from the soft, subservient Geisha to the strong, self-aware body builder would be fascinating, I think.

Interesting .. Yes That's what I thought .. the only problem is that she's real big to start with ... i don't thing the soft giesha will come thru ...

though i can always find another model for that ...

Hi Vid

We don't know each other in the sense that we've never sat down and had a drink and talked about the biz etc etc.

That being said let me say that I've greatly admired your work.

From what I have seen you are simply an artist. Everything I have seen of yours has been utterly beautiful.

Now this work is different. I wouldn't call it "beautiful" because I'm just not into the female bodybuilding thing that much.

However. I think this might be the most "artful" work of yours that I have seen.
I'm speaking of Lana's in particular.

You captured what her soul was at the moment of the shoot.
That is pure unmanipulated art!
Art for the sake of art.
Not art for the sake of evoking a reaction.
Even though this does evoke a reaction which again is a sign of great art.
That wonderful paradox.

As far as the Geisha idea.
I say go for it!

The idea intrigues me.

And please dood. Forget about looking stupid in front of the webdream cameras.

Go with your gut feeling. If it feels right then do it!

And congrats on webdreams.
I watched the first season with Dugmoor and I thought it was very cool seeing the biz from his perspective.

I'll be looking forward to checking out season 2 for your perspective. :)

Cheers.
