ok so awhile back I asked where you thought you might be 5 years from now (http://www.xnations.com/showthread.php?t=14824).

But what's maybe more enlightening is "Where were you 5 years ago?"
Are you making more money now? Or less?
Has your situation changed? Are you now an owner rather than an employee or is it the other way around?

What's different now from 5 years ago?

5 years ago I was modeling full time, running my own site and doing a lot of promotional work.

These days I still model and run my site www.aimeesweet.com (http://www.aimeesweet.com)... but I only shoot a few days a month... and now I work full time as the Marketing Coordinator for a VOD program www.alladultcash.com (http://www.alladultcash.com/?wid=13).

Life is good!

5 years ago I was flogging porn every waking moment. (and loving it)

Now I am trying to invest what I managed to save doing that so I can retire permanently... but it turns out managing high risk investments takes just as much time at the pc as flogging porn did!!

Hi Chris! nice to see your face on ICQ :)

Man, 5 years ago I was broke!
These days I can afford to pay the bills and even have some beer money left over. Life is definetly better these days!

I was in England on a job transfer for 6 months. My oh my how things have changed. I often miss some of the mainstream adventures I had but..... I wouldn't have missed this ride for the world.

5 years ago I owned Netpond ( then the biggest Adult Webmaster Resource bar none)

I also part owned a large click broking firm.

Since then my gross income has declined , but my net has risen.

The differences?

Honestly its simple...KISS. Keep it simple stupid.

Then , I had probably 20 staff of which maybe 6 worked ...sometimes LOL.

Now I have consultants , priced for jobs , and people paid solely on performance.

The main differences I see now cmpared to then is the number of people in adult. Waaaayyyy more.

There seems to loads of people doing it part time to make beer money hoping one day to score big.

Today there is fewer big earners , more making a "normal " sort income , but classed as "playas"...

Oh and my golf handicap is lower :)

5 years ago I was working as a network administrator and technology resource for a PR firm. I handled the local network and desktop support crap as well as worked with staff on helping them understand technology and how to pitch that to the clients. I worked on some stuff for large corporate clients like Dell Canada and some government contracts.

I made less money and worked a hell of a lot more. I feel I am further ahead now and would even feel that way if I was making less money because I got my time back. I was travelling 2+ hours each way to work every day. when you spend 4 to 5 hours in Toronto rush hour traffic 5 days a week it starts to wear you down.

5 years ago I was living with my parents - helping my dad out until my mom died of Alzheimer's and diabetes, she suffered a heart attack. I traveled 2 to 3 hours one way from kitchener to Toronto for work, then back at night through rush hour traffic for a year helping them out.

once she passed on I stayed with my dad to help him over it for 3 months then moved back to Toronto to get my life back. Shortly after that I met shedevil and the rest of history.

I'm with Anthony. Five years ago??? That would be the year 2001 and I don't believe I was even in adult that year. I do tend to come and go...and yes, that is the correct spelling on "come" for the wag in the back row. :)

5 years ago I was beginning a new life with a beautiful new lady.
I was also in between jobs, contemplating who's job offer I was going to accept.
I was happy 5 years ago... but nowhere near as happy as I am today. :)

I've had a series of ups and downs over the last five years...

However, now I'd say things are better. I'm making more money, I'm just starting out on a couple of different projects... Including being the Script Supervisor for a local low-budget horror movie, planning out a site which will feature myself, and a couple of other projects.

On top of that, I have a personal blog, which I use to send traffic to my cam when I'm on. I've also been trying to start a sex advice column on it too. And, I plan to add this blog to the site I'm putting together(the one that's going to feature me) when it goes up. So, really it's a multi-purpose blog! :cackle:

I've still been camming(obviously) I still do some writing work(though, I'm pretty booked up right now...) I still own Written Temptations, and, still trying to learn new things! ;)

Wow, 5 years ago I had been on the net for 4 years already since 1997. I remember when Evil Chris and Good Chris were part of WRP before that. Alot of the original amateur sites (big names too) that had started at the same time as mine in 1997 were going off the net in that time period or being sold.
I am making more money but I think there are a lot more people who think that they can throw up a site and are content to make a few dollars than there used to be.
It was nice having my own merchant account , that's different now.

5 Years ago.....

Expecting child #2, working at WRP, learning the fine art of vegetable gardening and driving a BMW.

Today, I sit on my ass figuring out what to do next.... any one have any good ideas?

Well, 5 yrs ago I was making more in the adult world probably than I am now but now I have both adult and non-adult sites. I sort of prefer the "not all eggs in one basket" theory. ;) I also have a family now so my priorities are a little different than 5 years back. I do have more websites tho and I'm making more money in the adult work I do than I did just a few years ago.

Five years ago, I met the man who is now my ex boyfriend. But other than that, it is pretty much the same...

I'm trying to think but it's all the same! I got a few more piercings, a few more tattoos. That's it!

I love my life though! I wouldn't want to change it. Maybe that's why I am still doing the same things...

Sophie.
