I was thinking about getting back in the free site game but I see blogs are great for top SEO spots. Could someone please point me in the direction of good automated blog software that they recommend?

Thanks! :laughout:

I use dBlogger. http://www.dblogger.com

Many people use WordPress. http://wordpress.org/ There is also bBlog, http://www.bblog.com/, Movable Type, http://www.movabletype.org/, Text Pattern, http://www.textpattern.com/, and Greymatter, http://noahgrey.com/greysoft/

For automated blogging, there is Blog to Rank, http://www.blogtorank.com/ , Rss to Blog, http://rsstoblog.com/ , and AutoBlogger, http://www.autobloggerpro.com/ .

If you really want to be successful in blogging, put your articles in your own words. Don't use the same syndicated content as everyone else is using. Yes, you can generate sales from RSS feeds, but if you want to rank well in the engines, start by writing your own unique content.

Don't discard freesites either. Freesites that are done well, can still bring in a wealth of search engine traffic.

Wordpress. It does everything, has a ton of plugins available and supported, tons of pre-made skins, a 5 minute setup... nothing to lose.

Wordpress is good stuff. I haven't played with much else.

Free sites are still quite valuable.
I have several from a long time ago that still get good SE traffic.
