Both great songs, but a little bit sappy yes!

Carpenters are good. I'm not ashamed to say I like listening to them. :)
Their Christmas album is pretty good too.

That's What Friends are For by... Dionne Warwick, I believe? That's about the sappiest song possible. Reminds me of slow dancing with girls at parties when I was 12 years old, and being happy I was dancing with the growth spurt girls so not only did they have boobs, but they were at the right height.

i can't stop loving you - ray charles. sister christian lol brings back memories of teen slow dancing. sweaty boys. glad to see no one mentioned a celine dion song.

Is "Your Song" by Elton John considered sappy?Not sappy! Good tune, and so is Sister Christian.

There are a lot of sappy Elton John songs though. "Someone saved my life tonight" comes to mind.
