Try adding low fat yogurt or soy milk. Makes great shakes

My first post! might as well share my fruity recipe.

Banana ice, decadent but very easy to make.

Get some ripe bananas (at least 4)
cut them up in 1/2 inch thick rounds
place on plate lined with waxed paper. freeze for 1 hour.
when frozen, put in blender and puree.
Serve immediately.

That's it, easy, but oh so good.

Never tried it with alcohol, I guess rum would be good.
But a splash of grand marnier would be better.

going to have to try it out.

I have a fav smoothie recipe...sorry I haven't tried it with alcohol yet :)

Peachy Pina Colada

- 1 Medium fresh peach
- 1 cup fresh pineapple
- 1 small frozen banana
- 1 cup Pina Colada Juice (Summer Song)
- 1/2 cup to 1 cup of water

Peel & slice peach and pineapple. Break frozen banana into small chunks. Combine juices and water with fruit in your blender, puree on high until smooth and creamy.

remember Orange Julius? they had them in malls in the US back in the eighties, not sure about Canada.
damn they were good.

6 oz. can frozen concentrated orange juice
1 cup milk - low fat okay
1 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
8 ice cubes

-Combine all ingredients, except ice cubes, in blender.
-Blend 1-2 minutes, adding ice cubes one at a time, until smooth

Orange Julep:

2 cups of orange juice
1 egg (I could never decide if I should keep the yolks in it)
a pinch of salt
some sugar (I use fructose)

Beat to death with a high speed hand mixer (Braun or alike)

Bingo, you've got OranGelouppe

It makes a lot of foam. let the stuff rest a while for the foam to reduce.

LOL I noticed the smoothie machines and thought "Now, there's something that would never get used at our home." That was, until another friend mentioned "Frozen White Russians"!!! :D I just might have to go out and purchase one of those "Smoothie" machines! For my health, of course... LOL

Huggs!!
