I will fear no evil...

Evidently Gaming is way underfire these days, with courts asking banks for gaming transaction records to build a case against processors and online casino owners.

Anyone think we might get off easy this year with a new devil to target and the elections coming up in November?

I think people are starting to realize that porn in no way equals harm to children, and it's about time parents stood up and took responsiblity for the elements that can actually get kids in trouble, such as 'social networks' like Myspace.

The pointing finger of blame for the 'degradation of morals' across America and the deterioration of the american family (what? try a bad economy that is forcing people out of homes and jobs) is swinging I think this year.

Maybe we will finally have quiet year?
Thoughts?

Hasn't the pressure been off adult already since the revised 2257 regulations went into effect?

Depending on where a candidate needs the most votes from, depends on the vices that will be targeted and to what extreme.

MySpace and the likes will probably begin to catch some heat, but someone will put a spin on it and lump the adult industry into it because too many people still associate pedophiles with the porn industry on some level.

2257 definitley caused a flush. I know a bunch of webmasters that dumped properties, shut down sites, or changed the direction of their business after that. But they are still doing inspections, but I think they are finding companies more prepared than expected.

I think adult will definitely not be in the spotlight, but somewhere off in the curtains still...

I think you're right, too, Cyndalie, that companies like YouTube, MySpace, etc. are going to have a harder time keeping away from the firing range. Technology is growing at a much faster rate than the government is able to monitor... so you better believe it's going to be a literal race to see who can appease the American people more with their plans to protect our children....

Of course, you do know that Porn is the root of all evil, so I can't imagine we will walk away unscathed... ;)

There has been several investigations since the new Revised regs. At my count I think, 6 or 7 seperate investigation with only one bringing in any arrest .. The "gunn" arrests however I don't think they got nailed on any of the Regs but rather on some stupid Local commnity by law.

Yet with all this 2257 shit they bust the GGW guy for having underage content and all kinds of shit on that dirtbag and they FINE him? If they busted any webmaster with underage content it's to the slammer and headlines of busting a child pornographer no doubt about it.

my gut thinks that the feds need some type of trophy for the next election, and porn isn't it - nor is the american public caring for it - but online gambling is a stronger addiction that hurts homes more than porn.
