View Full Version : What makes a good sponsor?

What is it that you look for in a sponsor. What it is that you really look for?

And I don't mean the particular niche you're looking for this week.

I mean, overall... the service, the quality of their stats area, the quality of their content, free content.... everything.

What is really important to you, when selecting a sponsor???

In my opinion, a sponsor should be working for you ALL the time.
And not doing other things on work time.

what I look for in a sponsor, well there's a few things

1. how often do they update their sites? if often, is this content made available to use for promotion of the new updates and tours

2. Mutiple tour options?

3. (TripleXCash and CFF aka Evil Chris perfect example) Are sponsors willing to help you maximize your traffic and revenue generation

4. Pop Up Free Tours - The hun doesn't accept everyone, so those popup free tours come in handy

5. Reputation - Granted there are advantages of grabbing the smaller lesser known companies and their programs but I look for companies who have a solid background in the industry

XxXotic said it pretty well. About the only thing I'd add is updating their webmaster section. A sponsor who has "more coming soon" that's been on a page for over a year, or who has stopped updated a "news" section, raises questions in my mind.

I like Niche diversity a little bit of everything.

Programs that offer a little bit of everything? Hmm... I would have thought that a program that specializes and does one thing better than anyone else would be better.

I guess it's all relative.. to wether or not they really are better.

<Excuse me while I spam>

payments on time, no shave, cascading join forms, paypal joins, check joins, free updated content, hosted galleries(pic and movie), referral credits, conversions, retention, exit joins, ...

And $40 payouts this Saturday

Ok, I'm done.

Ok, let me ask you this... are you more inclined to pass by a program with just one website? Do you only look for a program with 40+ sites to promote?

Our site has a program all to it's own... is that an advantage or a disadvantage? Would it be in our best interest to incorporate our site into a larger program... like Evil Chris had just done with CFF and triplexcash??

ITS ALL ABOUT GETTING PAID...

:)

But GregTX, if it's all about getting paid, then do you just take the highest rev share, knnowing that it may shave, or what...there has to be some criteria for selection, otherwise the mosty advertised highest paying will win every time.

We personally do not use rev share programs...

we only work with pay per signup business models... we send you traffic to convert.. and get paid... honeslty we do not want to invest our traffic into a company that we have to worry about the member staying 2-3 months to get paid what other programs will pay us $35-40 straight up... then it is their job to keep the member past the trial... or for more months...

I'm not knocking rev share programs... I just think my job should stop after getting the surfer in the door... its then the site owners job to keep them... I have no control over the rev share persons program... content.. hosting... billing etc... so I would not invest my money on thier personal choices alone...

We pay up to $50 on trial signups and a flat $30 on free trials... so you don't have to wait for that mmeber to convert 2-4 months to get the same amount of money..... again... webmasters like to be paid... so we pay them weekly ... and pay them well for their traffic.. it is then our job to retain them... hell the webmasters work hard enough just to send traffic... I dont' want them to have to wait months to get thier $$$

peace
:)

hmm. i think most people will have different criteria for what they consider to be good...all the business requirements aside, i would have to say that being able to get in touch with someone easily is important...as well as being able to trust someone to follow up on what they say

P.S. i'm always online...and very trustworthy:)

freehosting, preferably some sort of subdomain hosting or a folder off the root, like spankithere.bigoleboobies.com or www.burnisgay.com/titpics/

free content, even if it just the bargain basement 25 cent per image crap we all have a ton of. some amount of sponsor-exclusive material would be nice

good promo materials. different shaped banners featuring decent models (not the 25 cent per image crap that we all have a ton of). if i already own licenses to the chicks they use on the promo materials, it is time to find a new sponsor. that design money isnt a loss, it is an investment. pay that extra 50 bucks for those 10 odd shaped banners

support. do not be greedy people, running some sort of big operation with 2 or 3 people doing everything. nothing will ever get done on time and people will stop promoting your shit and you will have to be all broke and homeless like Mayor :D

stats. i want to know which page sent each hit, period. that means i can change up ads to take better advantage of my traffic once i find out what niche my surfers tend to look for on each site. tags are good too

server reliability. dont try to run a whole program of freehosting off somebody's excess bandwidth, or when you get fucked on the deal every one of your webmasters gets fucked the same way

give your people the tools that they need and let them sell. does your program suck so much ass you cant take care of your people? who wants to promote anything like that?

i have been trying some sponsors recently and one looks very promising
