Got in late last night.

Was a good trip! The beaches are probably the best I have ever seen. Great weather, decent food too. Some Cubans are really nice and others are quite grumpy. It's not like a Vegas resort, but it's Cuba after all. We had a few hiccups at the hotel but all in all it was a great week!

We'll post a few pics once we catch out breath here. :)

One of my first vacations to Canada before moving here, I passed a big billboard along side the highway advertising vacation packages to Cuba. That is something you definitely will never see in the States.

My first job when I moved to the UK was as a travel agent and it took me a while to get used to selling vacation packages to Cuba.

Cuba was better than I expected on several levels. It's not the squalor you might imagine, at least not in the areas we saw. I think the poverty levels are comparable to many of the islands in the Caribbean.

They (the Cubans) generally don't have much of an idea of what is going on outside their own country though. So their attitudes definitely lack any sense of urgency to get things done. We saw this over and over with the hotel staff.
