I am listening to The Pogues this afternoon. I hadn't listened to them in many years and had forgotten that most of their songs are about drinking, fishing, and falling from grace with God. :bless:

That's right... they're Irish. :patty:

I love the Pogues
there was a thread on JBM about them lending a tune to a car commercial and it caused me to go home and break out "Peace And Love" and give it a listen again...

That's why I broke them out again as well.
I used to listen to them a lot in the early 90s.

They are from Ireland. That style of music is prevalent in Canadian folk music because we have a huge Irish community in the eastern parts of Canada. The east coast descendants can be a mix of Irish, Scottish and French depending on which parts.

Did anyone see the sex pistols movie the Filth and the Fury? They show movie footage of Shane McGowan he must be in his early teens.. hammered out of his skull and the 100 club in London, a Pistols groupie no less.
