Since this is making its way around the boards, I thought I'd post it here in case any of you haven't seen it. It reads to me like this TGP owner is telling his surfers NOT to click the sponsor links on the galleries.

What do you think of this? I think it's very fucked up.

"While viewing a gallery do NOT click on anything but the thumbnails - Remember, a given web site is in no way affiliated with the galleries that it links to. The content in these galleries is not owned or managed by the site providing the link, so each gallery has its own advertisements and advertisement tricks that are independed to that specific gallery. The only safety net you have while viewing a gallery is that the site linking to it usually knows that there are in fact legitimate thumbnails in that gallery, so clicking on the thumbnails themselves is the only safe thing to do. Avoid clicking on everything in the gallery that is is not a thumbnail at all costs, and after you are done viewing the gallery close it and move on to another gallery. DO NOT waste any time wondering if that since the gallery contains very good photos or videos, that maybe the other links on the page are worth while because 99 times out of 100 clicking on them will just cause you problems."

It's a community. They are all about their members. People join because they can view clean galleries. They join because they want to look at porn. The community is designed so that anyone who joins, expects to look at free porn without redirects, blind links, pops , and the likes.

Designing a gallery based on the content, with a text link or 2 here and there, may convert better to sponsors by members of the community. The viewers aren't forced or tricked to joining, so they may not chargeback as often, or the sponsor may get a good rep for quality content, which may lead to higher retention. Maybe the viewer feels more confident about pulling out their credit cards because the community has a good reputation for listing no bs galleries?

This concept of the community and no BS, is just targeting a different type of viewer. Some people, including me, get pissed off at some of the pops and misleading advertising. This is just another way to sell to those people. The listings are still selling to the viewer but just using a different approach to selling their sponsors.

First thing is: It's NOT a community. It's a TGP pretending to be a community.
Second thing is: These guys have their own links to sponsors on their pages but they are telling their surfers to ignore any sponsor links on the galleries. Double frigging standard or what?
Third thing is: What incentive is there to submit a gallery to a tgp that tells it's surfers to NOT click any links? None. This place is just a bandwidth leech! An easy way to get content for free for the TGP, like any other TGP, but without the implicit sharing of resources (i.e. surfers) that takes place in the normal TGP/gallerybuilder relationship.
Fourth: Not only wouldn't I submit to these guys I'd be damn pissed off if they DID post one of my galleries.
Fifth: If anyone who reads this is affiliated with the site, I'm not trying to be offensive. But as someone who both runs a couple of tgps and posts galleries, this thing really pisses me off! A high percentage of tgps fuck with the gallery builders by having stupid rules and prohibitions BUT once a gallery is accepted that's where it ends. They give the gallerybuilder his shot at the surfers wallet. It's bad enough that a lot of TGPs make most of their submitters actually PAY them for posting a gallery. But at least that's open and upfront.

PS for Panky: If you read it it tells the surfers not to click on ANY links except the thumbs. That pretty much means that there is NO possible way to market to a surfer from that site for a gallery builder. In fact it goes so far as to say that 99 times out of 100 the link will have nothing to do with the content of the gallery. Which is pretty much bullshit and a transparent effort to try and convince the surfer that the only banners that are safe to click are the ones on the tgp.
