What about Biathlon Ron? A bit of a micro-niche of a winter sport, but I bet you could easily become an authority on the subject.

Cross country skiing and a rifle. Sounds simple enough yeah?
I bet you'll be able to make up a bunch of stats for it yet though.

Make up stats? Are you saying the stats I showed you in the other thread were made up?

Or are you willing to admit that you're statement, "overall more pucks are going in the net than ever before" was just outright wrong?

As for the biathlon I know nothing about it. (See it's not hard to admit. At least for me. You should try it.) In fact, I believe I also stated elsewhere that while I really enjoy watching basketball, I wish I knew more about it, because admittedly, I don't know a whole lot. Much like you and hockey.

Have you started reading up on lacrosse yet?

I think the fellas at xnations should play naked rugby~

They should jello wrestle together.

I like the naked Rugby idea. With Jell-o wrestling, Chris and Ron could work out their aggression, but Rugby might be more suited for the guys of XNations. Team sport. Wrestling is more a one on one thing.

There's something hawt about a man with a stick. Maybe floor hockey?

Floor hockey is definitely a good option.

Ronaldo.... it's time I brought the facts forward for you. You say I was wrong to say this:

Especially these days when overall more pucks are going in the net than ever before, and players are getting bigger and stronger all the time.

Yet... in almost the same breath, YOU prove that I am right. As follows:

"More pucks are going in the net than ever before"???

Here's a few numbers for you.

1984-1985

21 teams played 80 games each and combined for 6530 goals.

2006-2007

30 teams played 82 games each and combined for 7264 goals.Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 7264 a higher number than 6530?

Yeah. I thought so.

Hey look, the spinmaster is at it again. Leave out the actual proof...

84-85 team average per game? 3.88
06-07 team average per game? 2.95

That's almost 2 goals less per game than when the Oilers dynasty was in full swing. That's the only year I checked btw.

Just for a bonus...

84-85 highest scoring team-Edmonton-401 goals
06-07 highest scoring team-Buffalo-308 goals (would rank 12th in 84-85)

06-07 lowest scoring team-Edmonton 195 goals
84-85 lowest scoring team-Toronto-253 (would rank tied for 11th in 06-07)

Now, I know you're not that dense so you just can't admit when you're wrong. No problem. I'm done.

Who's spinning? It remains true what I said, and I was even civil enough to use YOUR numbers. Admit you were wrong and we'll move on to more important matters... like bowling or something. ;)

Cherry pick number all you want man. You should ask Michael Moore if he needs someone to do research. You'd fit in well with him. You're wrong and you know you're wrong. You're just playing.

Using those SAME numbers it's clear that my statement stands up and yours doesn't. I suggest you take a remedial math course somewhere.

Nice.... Very interesting too how you conveniently left out this little tidbit of important information when you quoted. These are your words... not even mine!

You're wrong and you know it. There are more pucks going in the net nowadays in the NHL. Players are bigger, stronger, and faster. Plus there is no red line anymore either, which opens things up even more.

If you went to a hockey game last year, guess what? You saw on average two FEWER goals per game than you would have in 1984. Not MORE goals. LESS.

First you tell me that there were more goals scored in 06/07 than in 84/85, and then you say I would see fewer goals in a game last year?

Are you being this way on purpose Ron? ;)
