I went partying up in the north yesterday, outside all night long and it was somewhat cold. I now have a sore throat and it will probably will get worse tomorrow. I'm willing to take care of myself so it doesn't get worse.

What I've been presecribed is Ginger Root tea sweetened with honey (taste like crap, main reason for honey).
You get yourself ginger root and grate a bunch in a 4 litre pot then drink just that for an evening, talk to no one, get some sleep...
Happens to me after every show - and we had Florida earlier this month, then Qwebec Expo this last weekend - almost total voice loss, and I think I may be permanently scarred lol.
(so you see it's not off topic since it relates to tradeshow recovery :P )

Okay, I wasnt' really going to say anything. Many years back I use to sing solo - and when I had a sore throat the best remedy was gargle with salt water.. alot. The salt sucks out the toxins and replenishes the throat with the salts its missing. do that a few times and your fine by the next day. Keep doing it until its gone shortly.
remember to super saturate the water - I mean really fill it ... make it luke warm or whatever is comfortable to you.

Buckley's Cough Syrup. It tastes vile, but it works.

When your throat feels dry and itchy theres nothing quite like a strong licorice tea to make it feel nice.
