Domain purchases and SE placements

Question for the SE nuts.

If you put two domains side by side, one with the domain bought out for 5 years and the other being paid year by year... with the 5 year domain have more of a chance to be well placed by the SEs?

Will the yearly re-newed domain get ignored or partially ignored?

What I'm basically asking is if it is better to pay for multiple years when buying a new domain rather than speculating for a year at first.

Doesn't matter how long it's registered for - engines don't look or care. Age of the domain (how long it's been up) and the consistency of the content/site existing on that domain matters more. How long you register it for has no effect so long as the domain never goes down long enough to drop out of the index.
