Ahoy there matey! Know ye what day this is? Ye don’t? What kind of landlubber are ye! Why today be International Talk Like a Pirate Day. If ye not be knowin’ that, where have ye been for the last decade?
International Talk Like a Pirate Day was started in 1995 and has taken hold of the online world ever since, especially thanks to that witty writing scalawag, Capt’n Dave Barry who helped the holiday become everything it is today. Why, it even has its own theme song written by Tom Smith, the scurvy of the seven seas.
So, ye need to be forgettin’ about traditional grammar fer one day and join in. It’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day, so be talkin’ like a pirate or we’ll make ye walk the plank!
And talkin’ like that scurvy Capt’n Jack Sparrow don’t count. He be the absolute worst pirate we’ve ever heard of.
