It's become a very big problem.
Now more than 1,300 homes in the area have been destroyed.
More than 320,000 people are seeking shelter.

The Marines and National Guard have been sent in. I feel horrible for all the people affected.

I just spoke to our home office in Canoga Park. They aren't affected by it, but yes she mentioned that some of the fires might move into the Malibu area.

What they need out there is some rain and a lot less wind.

They also need some compassionate leadership. This is Katrina the Sequel.

We will see who takes the fall as GWB busily saves Iraq from Iraqis.

My cousin lives in San Diego, her and her family had to leave their home and go about 50 miles away to her husbands brothers house, they dont know if their house is gone or not at this time. When she left the fires were about 2 miles from her home, that was early yesterday... I am waiting for her call if she has heard anything yet.

At least one of the fires is thought to be arson.

That's just insane.

The death toll in CA is going up as they start to find folks in their homes in the areas that caught fire, it's up to 10 last I heard. Horrible.

One of my friends in San Diego was away camping for the weekend, and she couldn't go back home. Her whole neighborhood had been evacuated. Luckily for her, she was in a huge trailer at the time so she had somewhere to sleep. She said a million people have been evacuated so far.

I drove through the San Bernadino fire last Sunday driving back from Vegas... it was not that bad at the time, but the 15 was closed and we were driving onto the 215 when we coudl see bushes seemingly spontaneously bursting into flames... not a good feeling when you are drivign a fuel based vehicle.

Luckily most of the fires are contained now.. Malibu did take a solid hit, but the Riverside fire in Orange, well i was goignt o go beach campign this weekend, but Onofre and San Clemente were shut due to risk of further fire and damage already occured.

This is my first season of fire in SoCal... wow, it is like its own weather pattern.
