Funny... I was about to make this thread myself.
I can't believe the CBC dropped the theme song to Hockey Night in Canada. I guess I can't even call it that now.

Since TSN has picked it up... what is it going to be called now? Can't call it The Hockey Song. Stompin Tom Connors already has that one.

Maybe they should hold some kind of competition. Anyway, I think the whole thing is a little crazy. Why wouldn't the CBC renew this? It's part of the fabric of their hockey broadcasts.

I think they got stingy with the money, when they did'nt want to pay the 3 million or so in royalties, they thought it would be a good idea to change things up and thought people would be behind them, cuz it's Canadian Hockey.
They shockingly didn't understand the cultural stature or branding behind the song. I wouldn't call it the second national anthem, but like the Yahoo yodel and the Intel song, 5 notes of the HNIC song and you would know it.

It's going to be so weird hearing that song on TSN. I wonder how the CBC introductions will go now?

CBC are complete idiots. Someone royally fucked up. It will be interesting to see what TSN does with it.

It will play on TSN, RDS and during the Winter Olympics when the Hockey games air.

Colbert is awesome, shame I missed it, I rarely miss his show. Fucking YouTube pulling clips non stop, they pulled all the comedy central roasts as well, damn you Viacom!
