Man what a great commedian. I sure am going to miss him.

I have 2 of his books. One of his last comedy specials "life is worth losing" was pretty dark and almost hostile.

He died of heart failure at 71 yesterday.

He was such a great comedian.. It's sad to see him go.

I remember watching him on Shining Time Station when I was a kid. He also was the narrator in thomas the tank engine or w.e that show was called.

Classic comedy guy... he'll definitely be missed.

I always think of him in the Bill and Ted movies even though he's done a ton of way better things of course.

My favourite from him will always be his comedy album "Class Clown". We used to listen to it when we were kids (we weren't supposed to really).

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- George Carlin, the influential comedian whose routines used profanity, scatology and absurdity to point out the silliness and hypocrisy of human life, has died. He was 71.

George Carlin, here in 2007, kept up a busy schedule, performing as recently as last weekend in Las Vegas.

Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, died of heart failure Sunday, according to publicist Jeff Abraham. Carlin went to St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon, complaining of chest pain, and died at 5:55 p.m. PT.

From the 70s on I have laughed throughout the years at his brilliant comedic roles. "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" monologue was brilliant - it's like loosing a family member to me

He will always remain one of my favorite comedians. I'll never forget seeing him live. It was a truly awesome experience.

I never saw him perform live. That would have been a trip!
We used to go see a lot of stand up in Montreal, though.

Our just for laughs comedy fest (http://www.hahaha.com/) is apparently the biggest comedy festival in the world.
