I'm reading conflicting views on Google PageRank, and so I throw it out to you guys to discuss.
Personally, I find PR to be important especially if you have links on sites with very good PR. What are your thoughts on this?

Some people buy hardlinks on higher PR ranked sites to boost the rankings on their page. I dont think it holds the same amount of mustard as people once thought it did.
I'm sure we will be saying the same about Alexa in the very near future.

Depends what your goal is. If it's to have a High PR it's important. If it's to have high rankings, it's not important.

Here's my take on it. Let's say I have a blog, and it has no PR. Not even PR0.

If I can get that blog listed on sites that have PR5 or better, then my blog gets almost immediate traffic from Google. The blog itself can remain with no PR but still receive a lot of SE hits.

Then you are using links simply to get spidered and indexed. This is a little faster than submitting. But does pr equate to rankings, well no -the keywords have to be there.
