View Full Version : Would you refuse to do business with someone over their views on the war?

I saw this question posed somewhere else, so I figured I'd try and get some rational answers.

My answer would be yes, I would. Everyone has their own views and opinions. What a boring world we'd live in if you all agreed with me (you'd be right, but how boring that would be :D).

The only people I wouldn't do business with would be known cheaters or people known to deal in illegal projects.

(You mean your answer is NO dude. The question is - would you REFUSE to do business...)

As for me? NO. Not at all. I would happily do business with anyone who holds views different than mine in that war aspect.
People are allowed to have different views than mine.
They are even allowed to have any thought on any subject even if I think it is wrong or dumb as hell.
Since I hold no key to the truth I am not in a position to pass a final judgement on people's opinions.
I see worst things than disagreements.
If there is something that will prevent me from dealing with other people is their intents - not views. For example - I don't like dealing with hetefull people since that is not a matter of opinion - that is a matter of character.

I wouldn't refuse to do business with a person / company based on their views of the war. What does their views and my views of the war have to do with porn anyway? <img src="http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/_950/upset.gif" width="20" height="20">

Well in my mind, business is business, personal matters stay out of it. I've had to work with people that I found to be real idiots in previous jobs, but because business came first, i had to bite the bullet and get the job done.

As for this particular reason, the war, I don't think anybody would not do business over it. It might be because the other person is being retarded about it and not leaving it at "matter of opinion".

But hell, I'd do business with Saddam himself man, get "The Girls of Saddam". Photograph all his wives and mistresses. Film them in an orgy and if he was in it, it'd be even better! Think of the sales! $50 a month man! After Howard Stern talks about it on his show, BOOM! It's over!

Good point Ronaldo!!!

U can trust me, doing business these days with US ppl when u're French is not that easy!!

But the funny thing is that i've been arguing on many boards about France's Point of view regarding the Iraq war with lots of ppl. BUT the ppl i were arguing with contacted me later on for doing business!!!

As long as someone has a "smart" view regarding war (and not saying "without us during WW2, u'd all speak German bla bla bla...) with a friendly attitude, i'm ready to work with him...

... and US ppl like when a little Frenchie has balls to take a stand against these attacks too!!! LOL

I would probably refuse to do business with someone based on their personal views. But not their views of the war in Iraq. That's a thing that is far too objective for me to be able to decide that a person who disagrees with me is somehow morally deficient.

I've had plenty of disagreements over politics, religion, and other touchy issues on the boards over the years... I don't THINK it has affected my business.

Speaking for myself, I'd do business with a person of any viewpoint. On the other hand, I do try to do business with people I get along with and enjoy talking to. So they can hold any view, and can even debate me about it (I enjoy debate)... as long as the debate stays civil. Once they make it personal (which happens occasionally), it's more doubtful that I'll seek that person out to do some business.
