This month! I really look forward to it. He always works without a script and is so intense. This will be my second time and I'm hoping he's going to have some funny new shit!

If you've never seen Henry's spoken word, you should at least check it out on YouTube.
I've seen him many times over the years. He's a trip.

I've seen him. he's an intense guy! Let me know if he reads his "Family Man' bit. My dad heard that and smashed up my cassette tape!

Henry has grown up and matured. He doesn't have the same anger he once had (we all had) when he was in his 20s. He tends to channel those feelings more effectively with truth and sarcasm now. I haven't heard him tell the same story twice. He goes out on the road with new material each time he tours. Typically, stories about his own travels and life experiences.

iggysick, were you a fan of the American hardcore punk movement?

Don't mind some Rollins music, but never thought much of his spoken word. Although, it was probably over 10 years ago I last heard any. Maybe he's improved since then

I did liked Black flag, Dead Kennedys and my all time favourites Ramones and The Stooges and Iggy pop. They are not all hardcore but each of those groups are legends in some way and nothing but pure rock energy. But,as you said, I'm no longer in 20s :)

I'll admit, I was never a part of that American punk movement. During that time (79, 80, 81...) I was listening to the Sex Pistols, but also Pink Floyd, RUSH, Generation X, and The Clash to name some. A blend of rock and emerging punk.

Well, I liked raw power in music (that's where from I got nicname in first pale = Iggy Pop). But with getting older I softened lol

Have you seen the episode of The Henry Rollins show where the Stooges re-unite and perform live on their soundstage? I think his show still airs on IFC occasionally. I have my DVR set to record them whenever they come on.

movement? it's just angry music lolhaha.. yes it is/was. Similar to the anti-establishment stuff that came out of the UK, but one octave higher on the angry scale.

Rollins is an interesting character to listen to, though. He's says what the rest of us would love to say, but don't.
