For those who haven't heard, there is a new smoking alternative called the electronic cigarette, or e-cig. It's a two part device that delivers nicotine via a vapor that looks like smoke. It also exhales like smoke.
The FDA won't let us make claims about it being a smoking cessation device, even though a user can get lower strength nicotine levels....
However, there are a lot of benefits for users to switch to e-cigs:
- They can smoke almost anywhere since there is no cigarette smoke.
- No fire hazards since the device contains a rechargeable battery and cartomizer (which houses the nicotine).
- None of the 4000+ chemicals in traditional cigarettes.
- No smokers breath or dirty ash trays
- No ashes or tar
- Saves money on traditional cigarettes since each cartomizer is good for approximately 300 puffs (this will vary based on how hard the user puffs)
