I got some email from these Like Whoa guys wanting us to sign up for their AdultCentro.com thingy. The email was quite frankly badly written and rambling and left me a bit confused. So I checked out the website. Apparently it's supposed to be some kind of adult webmaster portal dealie. basically all the stuff Like Whoa has now but in one place. Seemed not too bad but not terribly interesting to me until I came across a letter from the CEO, Nick Tukmanian. Here's a quote:
With its mixed synergy of innovative tools and services, AdultCentro standardizes the business aspects of the adult industry. Essentially, it's a system of self-governance that is expected to revolutionize, remarket, and rejunvenate. The package offers numerous partnership levels ranging from individual to premier business partnesrship - which allows all users to participate in evolving the ultimate AdultCentro. AC QualitySeal will help monitor online content and keep it up to par with professional standards. This important global goal had finally become a business reality. With the support of customer service representatives and legal counselors, QualitySeal will prove to be the first system of its kind to effectively oversee the industry as a whole. It's a model truly made by Webmasters for Webmasters withing a community that empowers everyone to help shape the industry. No offense to Mr. Tukmanian or anyone else at Like Whoa but that reads like something written by a truly gigantic ego. A "system of self-governance" ??? They're going to monitor online content and "keep it up to par with professional standards"??? And then the capper: "QualitySeal will prove to be the first system of its kind to effectively oversee the industry as a whole" WTF? It comes off sounding like the porno version of Bill Gates. Without the multi-billion dollar monopoly to back up his boasting, lol.

I don't know if this was actually written by the person that it is ascribed to, but I think they should get someone a little more skilled in public relations to revamp things a bit. I'm not even going to mention the typos. Oops I just did. Hehe.

Interesting...I think you're the first one to mention something about it...It's worth looking into!

Actually yes the actual idea seems pretty interesting. But their PR needs a little work. Hehe. The email I got said they already had 1000 pre-registered webmasters. I find that quite hard to believe that that is true but nobody has mentioned it yet. Maybe the 1000 webmasters are anyone who ever registered for one of their products, lol. It says on the site that it was launched on April 19th. Sort of a quiet launch I guess.

This isn't the first time I have seen such an idea. Only because of my experience in the biz do I know what they're even on about. To the newbie, they wouldn't have any idea what that letter means. It's just worded wrong, and the typos don't help.

Could it be re-worded like this? "We're going to police our product and make sure you're sure that we're not doing you any wrong, even if we are."

LOL

LOL Hehe. Exactly my point. What they have now seems very high-handed and fanciful.

OMG - competition for www.BoardTracker.com

Is anyone here thinks they are too much all over the place or its just me? I like their ambitions, I like ambitious people... But isn't it too much for a porn company? I mean, their site looks like Nike site rather than Adult webmasters site..
Is it just me?
