Does anyone here own any .ca domains?

I want to get a couple for myself. I heard from someone a long time ago that they are supposed to be free?
I'm not sure...

I found a registrar, but it's pricey... almost 100 bucks for two years per domain name.

Anyone?

I tried to get brandon.ca Chris but my "application" came back rejected.

I was never contacted, so I don't know if they do an internal search and see what other domains you own and base their decision on that.

I know .ca is supposed to be for government agencies and such so that may have been why as well.

Who knows.

Good luck though. ;)

Well after a bit of looking around, I found www.kiss.ca as an affordable registrar for .ca domains. 2 years for $32.98 (Canadian, eh)

I bet "brandon" got rejected because it's "Brandon, Manitoba" or something weird like that.

Yep, it appears you're correct Chris.

After doing a bit of reading I'm sure that's the case.

Thanks for the link. Bookmarked :D

I've always found places that charge a lot, but you seem to have found one that is very reasonable price-wise. I mean, we're used to $10 per domain in USD, convert that to CDN, it's about that price.

Gary-Alan and myself own www.adultwebmasters.ca :)

Think it cost us around $35US to have registered.

We have them at VibeHosting.Com (http://www.vibehosting.com), we are an Enom reseller. If you wish to order from us it will be $20.95/year (usd), otherwise it's $39.95/year there. We also have a lot more extentions available which aren't listed on the website.

Contact me or drop us an email and we will provide you with a registration form.

Forgive my here but why would you want a .ca domain.

Like do you buy them now with intent of selling it at a later date?

Fill me in:D

I would'nt buy a .com name with the intent of selling them later.

In Canada .ca's are widely used and typed in by canadians. It's just another strategy to add to the growing list.
