2 questions: what is a CPM and is $2.50 a fair price?

CPM is the measure of cost per impressions. It's means the cost per thousand ads delivered, or the number of impressions. So a $2.50 CPM sounds great, but that REALLY depends on where they're coming from.
I'd be somewhat cautious because in most advertising campaigns, you've got to consider a lot of factors in determing the cost effectiveness.

yup... like (for one thing) where the traffic is coming from and how qualified it is...

They take one of your own domains, and rent it out?

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense. Why rent a domain when you can get them for so cheap now.

Well, that's why I was asking. I guess when they "rent" your domain it's really just buying your traffic. It didn't sound like a viable investment to me either but, I wanted to know what that $2.50 and all that was before I judged them. Thanx for all the help mangs. This board rocks.

I know a guy who makes all of his money leasing his domains. He purchased a bunch of domains years ago that get type-ins, but has no desire (or time) to run sites off of them. To be honest, I am not even sure he would know where to start running a site, so he just leases them out to people to use.

I suppose it is not a bad plan, they are all listed in SE's and get traffic, so if he ever does come to the darkside he will be ahead of the game :)
