Just saw this report on the news that as much as 56% of the population in America are unhappy??? I find that quite hard to believe...I don't know anyone that's always happy!

Well, I'm happy as a clown! :D

They DO complain non-stop!

What does happy mean? I can say 95% of the Swiss are unhappy because they are NOT happy with how much they earn... so it's one things out of so many where people are not happy... does this now really mean that 90% are unhappy'

For such figures it's a lot more interesting how they got that number of 56% percent being unhappy...

I would be interested to see how low the suicide rate in Switzerland is compared to the rest of the world, or the west in particular.

I'm generally a happy person. I have my moments, but they don't last very long.

Living in the US, I can understand why a lot of Americans are unhappy. Unemployment is on the rise. The economy sucks. We still have men and women who have not returned from the Middle East. Arizona has a wildfire...

And here I thought that AZ was all dirt :) j/k

I am not a happy person, well right now I am a stressed person. So much crap is goign on/wrong right now. I want to drive to my host and kick the crap out of my main machine.

Typically I am happy, it takes a lot to phase me. Now happy and cynical are different right? :)

I'm generally a happy guy. I subscribe somewhat to the stoic philosophy: you can't always change the world around you, but you can change how you react to it.

For the most part I'm happy.

Are there things in my life that I'm not happy with or about? Sure. I'd like to shoot our neighbors cat and my mother-in-law visits too much.

But, my kids are happy and healthy. My wife takes my shit and let's me have my way with her. Can't ask for much more than that.

Wow... I would think that far fewer people in the US are happy... especially in this day and age. Everywhere I look people seem miserable... I love the days sometimes where I never leave the house to run errands, can do without the bullshit sometimes :) But yeah, I'm happy most of the time... when I'm not I'm very reclusive.

Hmmm I have a loft in downtown Vancouver.. my 18 ft windows look at the north shore mountains and the Burrard Inlet..and I can see the city lights of the downtown just to the left of my view.

I had 2 business meetings at Kits beach in the last 2 weeks..sand between my toes and bikini clad hotties set the tone as I talked biz with some good buds.

I went to Whistler with the love of my life for the weekend where we stayed at the famed Chateau Whistler..wined and dined and soaked in some of the most breath taking views in the world.

I may not be cash$$$ rich like some of my good friends in the biz..but I'm "Life rich!", content and pretty fucking pleased with my current situation.:D

Well, Chris, being happy is such a wide term. Being actively happy or being passivly happy?

Oh, hunny...you're sweet. :)

Either you have never been married, had children, debt, heartbreak, etc, etc or you just have a damn fine outlook on life.

If so, GO YOU! :D

not married, no kids, paying for student loans, a new car, and looking to buy a house. i'll admit, one reason i'm really happy lately is that i've been seeing a new girl. but still, life's too short to let things get you down. about 2 years ago i wasn't happy and life sucked. looking back on that time now, i can't believe it bothered me so much

I moved from a large city to a smaller city of about 80k .... here the people seem much more happy, the price of owning a home is much less expensive and being the best looking isn't on everyones minds... there is hardly any traffic and people actually wave to each other and talk in passing. People here seem happy... more so than where i used to be... and I am very happy... even when things have been going badly... i look around and take stock of what is going good.. and how thankful i am for what i have :)

btw... some people aren't happy unless they are miserable... :bonk:

That is absolutely wonderful, hun! I love to hear that there are still people together out there that make each other happy. I'm also glad your outlook on life is better. Like I said to Danny, maybe you guys will rub off on me. :)

I dont think complaining is an accurate measure of happiness :)

I am VERY VERY happy!! A lot of that is due to the fact that i dont keep stuff bottled up - I bitch, I complain, I try to make a difference. If I cant, I accept whatever is pissing me off and move on, or I stop doing it or get away from the situation.

I am happy because I am comfortable with my life :) I have a great man, loving family, wonderful friends, a kick-ass job in a great industry and I make enough money for basic essentials plus enough to have fun when I want to.

I get to travel around the world, most of the time for FREE because of the biz im in! I get to meet and party with fabulous people on a regular basis, and I get paid to talk to them ALL DAY LONG!

anyways, enough about me :) time to go back to work!
