Hey,

Since this is an adult webmaster board I thought I'd ask this here. I have been running some adult shit for quite some time now and I do make some money, but for some reason I can never convert any better than 1:2000 or something. I've been told that everything under 1:800 should be ditched, but than I probably wouldn't make any money at all.
So do you guys have any tips or advice for me? Here's the url: http://www.mentalernie.org/index_porn.shtml. Do I use the wrong programs or promote the wrong sites? Do I promote them in a bad way? ...

Thanks in advance,
Ernie

you have a nice site but I think you should get more traffic...how much do u get on a daily basis?

actually my site exists out of 2 parts, a porn part and an amusing part. The two combined get some 7 to 8 k normally but as of the start of summer it dropped to half of that.
So that's maybe 2 to 3 k now on my porn part now.

The summer slowdown....it happs..a lot of college kids are home and not in their dorms surfing porn, the kids are home fromk school, so dad isn't surfing for porn, it's nice weather outside so people aren't suring for porn...
but you also have to look at the recent changes in the industry. A lot of billing questions, people going down due to the processors that have gone away, etc.

I suggest you diversify your sponsors and rotate them in and out every couple of months, also add non-membership porducts as well: online pharamacies, dtaing sites, penis pill sites, etc.

Also, depending upong your number of bookmarks, set up an email box and run a little opt-in email list and mail your list members announcements every couple days (you may find this more profitable than sending them to an email program paying you a $1 per email).

Thanks. I've been asking in several other places too and they all say the same: use many different sponsors.
So does anybody have any suggestions on good affiliate programs? You may leave your webmaster referral url so you can maybe cash in when it pays of for me.

If you are making some profit (even if it is not much) from this type of site, why not make a dozen of them on different domains!

Nice looking site MentalErnie.

My opinion is however that a site with strictly hosted galleries is gonna get old really fast.

Also, ratios are dependent upon a few factors. Besides quality of traffic, hit count page is very important.

My main sponsor converts at about 1:1500. That's first page hits. If they hit the tour page on my gallery, that's a hit. YOU have to decipher the difference between that and the sites that convert 1:300 (which I have as well), but count second or third page hits. To these sponsors I say, show me my first page hits and see how much traffice I'm truly sending you. Beyond the first page is your sponsors responsiblity, not yours.

I could go on, but hit me up on icq on Thursday, once I recover from Miami.
