Over the past few months, some of you may have noticed that your post was moved, locked, and/or deleted. Most of the time, your post simply was moved to the appropriate forum.

Recently, I have made the decision to lock a particular thread. I did not lock this thread because of the content contained within the thread. Rather because the whole thread was nothing more than creative spam. I, as a mod, failed to move the thread to the forum it should have been posted in in the first place.

#1. The content contained within the thread was designed to draw peoples attention and get a reaction out of them. The more people who click the link, the more chances the webmaster had to expose the site and possibly get more members.

#2. It was my belief that the author of the thread intended for people to follow the link, watch the trailor, and then post their comments about the content. Taking a chance that the content would be debated. When the content stirs emotion amongst people, the more people will click the link to see what all the fuss is about. This only benefits the author, for the more clicks and controversy, the more chances of sign-ups occur.

I left this post in the main forum, for now. I decided to leave it as an example of what not to post in the XNations main forum. I could care less about the content / subject of the post. I'm simply referring to the way this post was constructed. The "Menstrual Video" and any such posts like it are not acceptable to be posted in the main forum.

I understand that sometimes there is a fine line between a legitimate post, and one that could be considered spam. For example;
Requesting site evaluations

A link contained within an introductory post

Posts containing links to Webmaster events sponsored by...

The main forum was designed for
Webmasters seeking help/ advice

Discussion of current events

Discussion of likes and dislikes of fetishes and trends

Marketing strategies

Billing solutions

Fun, entertaining threads to break up those long work hours

One time introductory posts

Discussions concerning the articles posted on the main page

Announcements of industry related events.

Techie stuff

Selling a site, providing you intend to actually sell the site and/or domain

If you are opening a new site, redesigned an existing site, offering a special deal, offering a service, useful information and tools to webmasters, then all you simply have to do is ask for your post to be allowed in the main forum.

Either contact myself, FB, or EC with what you would like to post. How long the post will remain and how often you may request these posts, will depend on a few factors. For example:
Are you helpful to other members?

How often do you post on XNations?

Do you respect the board rules and members?

What you are requesting to post is legal?

If you have any questions, requests, or comments you would like to add, please let me know.

Am I reading this the wrong way or are you saying this is a censored board, and YOU will delete and/or move posts if YOU don't like them. People now have to ask permission if they'd like to start a new topic?

I feel like my post was taken the wrong way on the thread that brought this up and i was not given the chance to respond... so i would like to comment here

I asked a question in regards to the thoughts about the type of content.. I didn't read the thread until after the photo was removed and a link was placed on it.

Im not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone... just wondering what really was the issue with the content or was it just the post... and not having the choice to view it or not.. or do the board moderators feel this could fall into illegal content...

--------------------------------------------

i don't need a response to this.. i just wanted to make my position clear... I was pretty disgusted by a response in the thread and didn't want to fall into that category myself...

every board moves spam to the spam forum.... well, except gfy.

But anyway... this is hardly a new concept.

And by the way... yes... every board is a censored board. Even GFY. You can't get away with anything you please there or anywhere. You will get banned if you upset the owners. It's how it is... this is Evil Chris and FunBrunette's neighborhood, and we go by their rules... it's not like the government set up XNations or anything.

but it's hardly a bad thing... without structure, there would be chaos. If they let anyone and everyone come here and post spam all they want... well, I wouldn't be here.

But up until now, it hadn't even occured to you... so it's not like they rule with an iron fist anyway... it's a smooth operation that runs without anyone noticing for the most part. How many of your posts have been moved or deleted? None right?

I agree 100% with panky.... that it was creative spam. And spam belongs in the News and Announcements board.

Good job panky :xthumbs:

Well, I've been thinking about this for some. To a certain degree I'm sorry for that post and those steps that Panky is taking. It seems just like a bit a loss of our freedom on this board.

However I see clearly why Panky takes these steps. This is one of the finest adult boards I know and I just love this place. I love the people on here and the way everything is running.

However the board has grown all the time and I think now the time has come where we hit a critical mass. Where things slowly may go out of control. This is the point of time where active moderating will become a necessity for everyone else to enjoy the board as it is. I have not need for another GFY here!

We will loose a bit of freedom on this board but the benefits will return us so much more and those rules or maybe I should rather call them guidelines imposed by Panky now are easy to follow and it's easy to understand why she put them in place.

I also like the clear communication of policy change instead of having threads and/or links re/moved and not know why.

Don't mess with Panky ok! Hehehehe! I couldn't of said it better myself...It's very clear! It's a question of comon sense...It's not about censoring and trying to piss people off! We're trying to keep this board the way it's always been: pleasant and informative!

Keep the toilet humour, the nuddies and all that good stuff coming...It is still an adult board! Just post it in the right forum!
Thanks Panky :xthumbs:;) :)

I am not a big poster but i have been reading and I agree with Panky. I really enjoy this board and the people that run it. it seems to me some members are only here to stir up trouble. I don't know who you are BillyHoe but you seem like you are trying to stir things up. if you are not happy here I am sure you can find another place to go!

FB I did use common sense. Both chris & yourself both know me and know my personality; I do not go out looking for fights. I read the post a different way then perhaps it was written or intended. Opinions are free and everyone is entitled to their own.
I have no desire to get into a flame war over this with you, Chris, or anyone else on this board who makes useful contributions.

Well..the thing is...I see a few people posting their new trailers and lil clips on this board and "One time Announcements" in the general section of this board, hell I've pimped shit straight out myself. I respect the owners of the boards and rules and I also know that alot of board BS is a popularity contest...clique.. some people get to go a little further than others. I can roll with it no problem..but I don't think the thread should have been locked...and I think the reasoning seems a little stretched based on a threads I read here. That's just my 2 Canadian cents..but it's your board do as you wish.

- The title of the thread was "Her First Gang Bang - Menstrual ( Video )" so what the fuck did you expect to see when you clicked the link. So just like life you have choices...no big whooop!

- You guys should start a new forum for softcore, lingerie, kissing and missionary fantasy sex webmasters. You can discuss "Hardcore sex, it's what's wrong with the industry today" and "what goes through the minds of paid models that don't want to have fantasy missionary sex" "oh that Dugmor" "Hey look Easton parties too hard" "Bad taste or tastes like chicken" and "I'm a Catholic Pornographer"

- Damn CX's new Avitar is hot hot hot!!!!

- Friday I had a business lunch meeting that lasted 9 hours.. 7 of which was slamming back the brews with the kick ass folks of Xtremepay, Jman and Brent from Sex Inc. Sounds like some big parties happening during webmaster summit ****CAUTION**** CAUTION*****There will be Cocktails .. nude models..and people taking shit too far but not too seriously....rumors and photographs to follow and we can start a whole new whack of threads about them.

- Anyone else like baked Tofu with sesame seed oil?

- Where am I going with this?

Bye everyone.. (((((Huggles))))

Let me first say that I fully support the actions of the moderators here on xnations. Panky and FB have handled this very well. :)

XNations is over a year old now, and maybe it's starting to feel some growing pains, which is likely a normal thing.

Dugmor is a old friend, but it remains that 95% of his posts are just drive-by creative spams for his stuff. The initial post he made with the menstrual picture offended some people. But instead of deleting the post and/or picture, we just hyperlinked it. Notwithstanding the subject of the thread, apparently it was still somewhat of a shock to open that thread and see the photo in your face.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. XNations isn't becoming a board where you'll wonder if your post(s) will be censored. It boils down to common sense though. If you are not a regular contributor or a sponsor of the board, you need to make use of the announcements forum out of respect to the regular users and/or sponsors.

Nobody likes to see a locked thread, but if it were to happen like this again, I wouldn't want a thing about it changed.

Panky
09-07-2003, 03:45 PM
First of all, I don't really care what the topic/subject matter of the thread was. I personally don't find Dugmor's video or others like it, offensive. Producing videos or images with a woman menstruating, as far as I know, is not illegal either.

The thread was stopped because it was started as nothing more than spam. It should have been moved to the News and Announcements as soon as it was posted. I failed to do so.

Some of you have addressed the concern of being censored. It's a valid concern. Many of you do not know who I am. Many of you have never met me. So, I can understand the concern when an unknown suddenly makes a move and draws attention to a topic that is as controversial as spam.

I will not move, lock, or delete a post because I personally find the content of the post offensive, or I don't agree with certain points of view. In other words, I will not censor your posts.

I will however move, or delete a post if;
It was posted in the wrong forum

The post links to or contains illegal content such as stolen images, child pornography, or beastiality.

As members of this board, you ladies and gentleman have every right to express your points of view. I will not take that away from you. I wouldn't like it done to me, so I will not do that to any of you.

All I intended to do, was make the guidelines clear as to the structure of this board. Without some kind of structure, XNations would simply become a useless webmaster board.

While I realize that the intentions are innocent, is it really appropriate for pictures of children to appear on an adult board? Perhaps such threads should also be removed.

I think it's up to the parents...If they want to share pictures of their children I don't see a problem. Emanuelle, I see your concern and appreciate it (as I'm sure other parents do) but I doubt we will start removing those threads! They're fun and they keep us smiling :)

Please don't ask us to stop posting our pets pictures too ;)

Sadly Chris, in this paranoid society in which we live, some would say yes.

I don't recall the outcome, but I remember a case of a lady who took photos of her child in the bathtub. The person who developed the pictures phoned the police and the lady was arrested for possession of child porn.

Sad, but true.

P.S. I don't see anything wrong with capturing your child's life on film Chris. I have pictures of our kids as well. My son and daughter even share a bathtub. For shame.

There's also a couple of nude pics of me whan I was a baby but I don't call that child porn or anything related... they are just memories and I don't think those pics taken did alter in anyway my development.
