View Full Version : Paying attention to sigs...

How many people actually pay attention to sigs?

Do you actually click through to them?

Do you notice text, static button, banners, or flash more?

How many times do you see a sig before you actually click?

Do you notice when someone changes sigs?

Do you click cuz you notice someone you admire, respect, name recognition, or are buddies with, is sporting a new sig and you had to see what they are promoting?

What makes you click?

???

Hi Panky ;-)

I generall;y don't tend to look at sigs unless it's offering a sponsor what has niches I intend to promote, if it does then I'll click through and see what the sponsor has to offer!

To me flash banners are more noticeable to the eye!!

But generally I'll usually find the sponsors i'm looking for my own way!! Sory guys I'll make more of an effort to sign up under somebodies sig if they offer what i'm looking for ;-)

Great question Panky... I actually do pay attention to sigs, and quite often click thru on them. I rarely pay attention to how often someone changes their sig or keep track for that matter, but I have clicked on banners and links the first time viewed as well as the 20th. With links I prefer them to be interesting and informative, and with banners I prefer them to be eye catching but not obnoxious.

I tend to gloss over sigs that are obviously advertisements or referral links. I tend to notice sigs that are unique and represent the person (such as RedShoe's moving sig on GFY).

I think when you promote your stuff in sigs, you have much more interest in other peoples sigs than the ones that don't have any or don't care what it says.

signatures do work... I track both clicks and signups on them, but not for each board I post to. I suppose I could do that too, but I track so many different accounts as it is.

I don't change mine too often, but I think it's important to spruce up your sig every couple of months...
