This is driving me nuts!
When I use ICQ... to expedite things I just use Alt-S to send the message instead of finding my mouse, pointing it, and then clicking.

Well I dunno what I did, but my alt-s isn't working now, and is just making a beep instead of sending the message...

Am I a geek? I can't figure this out.... help!!

Pretty sure I saw a setting somewhere to make the enter key send the message

I use tab -> enter. Works well for me. :-)))

The only problem now is--when I'm typing on a board or email, when I'm done I hit tab -> enter and wonder why it won't send. LOL

Huggs!!
Lady Sharlot :-)
tab -> enter Mwhahahaha

Well my alt-S is back working and I have no idea what I did to bring it back... LOL
I defy you to start using that shortcut... you won't be able to stop!
Plus, using alt-s on boards like this one will send your message...

Thanks for the other tips!

LOL! I'm probably the only person left who doesn't use keyboard shortcuts on a regualr basis. :bonk: Half the time, I don't remember the combinations or I screw them up somehow. Or, one combination works for one application, but doesn't always hold true to another.

I only recently started to use the email button on my keyboard to launch Eudora. That's a big step for me. LOL! I'm so challenged on certain things.

Also using Tab -> Enter for ICQ

In Trillian I just hit Enter :) Anyone knows how to make a line break in Trillian?

EC,

If you are using windows, and have accessibility options installed, you may have toggled the alt key. If you just hit the alt key a couple of times, it toggles back to normal. This is most likely what happened to you.

I always wondered how you could work not using the mouse when typing in ICQ, I hated using ICQ for that reason!!

I prefer AIM, dont know why just do...

I use Gaim for the most part. I started using it on all of my Linux machines, and eventually installed it on the Windows machines as well. Just like Trillian, it interfaces with many messengers.
