I have the slowest computer in the office. Is it time to upgrade?

Heck I lost track of processor speeds when they came out with the first P3s... lol
If it works for you, stick with it! :)

Well, the question would be... "If you get the fastest computer in the office, does that mean your responsibilities and your work load increase?"

You can probably get a good deal with dell for $300-400. They often have specials. I used to have a 500mhz but couldn't take it. I have a 2ghz now and it was an amazing upgrade. I say go for it!

How slow is it, that would make the decission for me, I cannot stand waiting for a processor to catch up with me!
I just maxxed out my machine with RAM and upgraded my video card so now I can use my puter as a TV tuner and video editor. It is sweet!!!

I was pretty happy with it until recently, but the speed is finally getting unbearable. Frankly I can't believe it lasted this long. :badcomp:
My new computer arrives tomorrow. :)

Assuming you're using the same software as you used to, why is it that the machine suddenly slowed down ? :D
You have three choices to get rid of that feeling that your machine is slow:
1- Spend money to get a faster machine
2- Spend one man-year learning Linux and see the machine fly:rolleyes:
3- Hire a computer-saavy secretary :D
I'd prefer #3. Computers are an unavoidable evil... :bonk: sigh...

I would chose # 1
Would it really take a year to learn Linux??

Would it really take a year to learn Linux?? Give me a week to learn the basics of it... Everything else would come in time.
