Popups are the devil!

I think you [everyone] should look for alternative methods of publicity or advertising revenue. I think popups are hell, and most of them come from spyware/dialers/god knows what that take up cpu/memory.... I think thats unfair, especially since they are self installing, and quite a pain in the ass...

I use Mozilla for my browser, it has built in popup blocking with plenty of features. The browser is free, and comes with a mail/newsgroups client, composer (web WYSWYG), and even an irc client.

Just make sure your computer is behind a router/firewall, and you may never need to install windows updates ever. I've had times where the windows update just turns my pc to crap!

Cheers, to alternative operating systems and guis that are free!

I haven't seen any computers in a long time that weren't either using Mozilla or Firefox, or using IE with some type of popup blocker or search bar installed that blocks popups.

I'm sure that the IE update in XP SP2 does block the majority of pop-ups.

Have you installed it yet?
