My cat usually is pretty active atleast twice a day and wants me to play with him. I think during the years I tried every kind of "game" and "toy", I could come up with to play with him.. But now.. hehe. Im almost out of ideas here and tried almost everything.. He becomes bored pretty fast..

You got any good suggestions for toys or anything you made yourself or bought that your cat really loved playing with?

Help out my bored cat and gimme some suggestions!!! ;)

I've had cats all my life and they use to always play with the funniest things: Beer caps, foil paper wrapped up in a ball, anything that "crinckles". :laughout:

They're just like kids, you buy them expensive toys and they end up playing with the wraps.

so true. dunno how many toys I bought, and he just forgets about it after one minute.

Then I make some hand made rubber band toy, and he plays with it for weeks...

I have 3 cats - two are brothers and another inherited from my brother.

First thing is are the cats neutred?? or declawed??

once that happens they settle down very well.

I wanted to get more than one simply because they do need a playmate so they wont get bored.

the best playtoy for cats are those pen lazer lights... you just sit there and they go nuts on it.

The cat does not need toys, he needs real interaction. Toys are make-believe interaction and they are very aware of it.

It wants you to play and interact with him.

Cats all do these darnest of things for attention, like sitting smack on the newspaper or book you're reading...

One good trick to keep a cat not harassing you is getting a second one. They'll keep each other busy.

I dunno how to choose the second one though, for I've never had more than one cat at a time. I had a cat at my folk's place and there, bro, sis and I had him see more action than he wished for... he he

Have you annoyed your cat today? :D

I have had a total of 6 cats over the years. the most I had at the same time was 4.

The mom, the dad, and their 2 little babie cats... (1 boy and 1 girl).

All I can say about that period is that I didnt have to look at the Discovery Channel no more.. I had all the crazy animal wild life right in my own home... ;-)

I chase him around the house, or do the hand under the covers thing to make him go crazy on the bed. That's all he needs. He gets bored of toys fast, and rarely plays on his own. So we have 2 cats now, they keep each other busy, and when they want to play with me, I do.

the best toy my cat's ever had is a twist tie... it bends, holds it's shape, flops around when he smacks it...

I have no idea why, but he can play with one of those for hours every single day and ever get tired of it.

Meow!! I have 3 cats - they love to play hide and seek with me and tag where I am base. They chase each other around and then pounce on me and then trade who is it. Of course this is ever so much fun at 3am when I'm sleeping.

Feather boas are great too. And lets not forget the old stand by - cat nip.

I have two kitties and they do the same thing, play with wrappers and they like to jump in and out of boxes but what I find they always play with when they get bored.

Catnip filled toys......

they look like little pillow that they toss in the air, once you can't smell the catnip anymore all you have to do is srcunch them up again and they go crazy!!!

My 3 cant get enough of Straws, they will even steal them right out of the cup, needless to say they usually spill the pop in the process, Ive now made it a habit of getting them each their own straw, that way they leave mine alone till Im at least done with the pop. They also cant get enough of those fur pieces, whether its mice or furballs.

I have a kitten who is about 9 weeks old. Everything, including me, is a toy for her. Her favorites seem to be a crumpled up piece of paper, a paper bag, and either a flashlight or the laser pens.

I appreciate all that posted in the thread, but just as I thought, almost all suggestions are ones I at one point used but the cat got bored of.. BUT.. Today I found a new product I have not tried before. This is liquid Cat nip in spray format. The problem I had with usual catnip "leaves" is that my cat liked it the first half hour, then tried to eat it, then forgot about it.

But this spray is so good.. You can spray it on a ball, on the hall mat, a piece of rope, or whatever, and the cat goes crazy.

Thanks again to the posters, and if you have not tried the catnip in the liquid spray version.. DO IT!!

hehe. I gotta post a video of this crazy cat going wild with this.. :bonk:

Ive tried it and they love it to pieces, Ive tried different catnip and the hartz formula is to minty for my cats they wont even roll in, now the other brand they cant get enough of it, thats what i rub into the scratching posts out in their kitty pen outside.
Heres a shot of it,I built it outside one of my basement windows, so they can go outside and I dont have to worry about them getting hit by a car or something else bad.

I currently have two cats. Every cat I have ever had or known has loved this product called the Cat Dancer. Here's a link to it http://www.catdancer.com/products.htm It's just five tightly rolled strips of cardboard on a long piece of wire (don't worry, it's safer than it sounds).

Cosmic Catnip (http://www.petdiscounters.com/cat/catnip/cc_catnip.html) is DA BOMB! Should be able to pick it up at PetsMart or PetCo or whatever in your area. Seriously, cats go apeshit over this stuff.
