Just wondering if anybody has any opinions on good colours for tgp galleries, etc. I used to stick to the darker and mid range colours but I heard a few people say that bright colours do better. Here's an older page that I did: http://www.pervotheclown.com/post/merc2/merc2.htm
And a newer one: http://www.montrealxtreme.com/pages/ste/ste.htm
I did the banner in the middle of the second page too. To fit in with the brighter colour scheme. I know the page design is fairly basic, but that's the way I prefer them. Any opinions welcome.

I've got all kinds of data on colors for paysites but not TGPs. I'd be interested to see the result of that. What is your ultimate goal with the TGP? Have it bookmarked by many people and send out as high % of your traffic to sponsors as possible, right? High contrast between wlements and sponsor links will be a key issue there... as for bookmarking it's more a general design issue rather than colors there.

Basically the purpose of a tgp gallery is to have a surfer check out a couple of the pics and then click through to the sponsor. Bookmarking is really not an issue. The first, darker page there was actually quite a successful one. I made probably close to 150 bucks off of it. But everyone says lighter and brighter is better so I figured I'd give it a try. The pages are hosted on my servers and then I get them posted on various tgps to get traffic to them. It's the sort of thing where you really don't want the surfer to stick around at all. You want them to be interested enough in the thumbs so that they hit your sponsor to get more of the same.

so if you had to rank the most important things in a TGP or TGP2 gallery (from a gallery makers standpoint) what would they be?

color/layout, matching content to sponsors, series pics vs. random...?

content #1 plain and simple (though not commly accepted) sponsor content converts best (for me) ive got like 8k worth of purchased content that except for 1 provider i buy from, doesn't convert well.

series pics, most tgp's wont accept non series

layout/color scheme/matching sponsor site

good text, it sells and gets spidered :)

Well that's pretty much a hole-in-one I'd say. I'm not sure about matching the sponsor's layout/colours yet cuz I've just started trying that. The rest though is absolutely true. Matching the content is definitely the most important. If they think a chick is hot enough to click through to the sponsor's site then you want to be sure that that girl is indeed visible somewhere on the sponsor's site. There are some exceptions amongst the mega sites perhaps where they have a very high update rate and not every girl is going to be visible on the tour. But those sites are generally over-exposed anyway. And the BIG thing is to make sure that the content is in same niche as the site. I've seen a lot of galleries with some titanic titted pornstar being used to sell barely legal. It just doesn't work.

so do you think anything changes or is more important in TGP2 vs. TGP.
Obviously, content is still #1, but does anything else become more of an issue? (layout, text, quality...?)

Honestly I don't bother with tgp2. There is a lot less traffic available so it just isn't worth my time. But in general I think layout does become as important as content. Since you only have 5 thumbs for the surfer you have to make the page as attractive as possible. Another thing to remember content wise is: Don't let the surfer blow his load. You have to walk a fine line between being hardcore enough to get posted and giving too much. If the surfer pops his nut he leaves the page happy and you get no clickthrough. Happy surfer bad. Horny surfer good.
