it's cheaper to buy a new one then get one rebuilt - now if your trying to recover the data then there are data recovery services out there but again very expencive

Are you able to recover any data at all? Does the HD still spin?
If it does, but too far gone for a xp or the like to read, the only way
I know with out taking the HD apart would be mount your crashed
drive onto a unix machine to extract the data.
Screw the drive back to back to a working drive and write the
kernel to access the data. It's not that hard
really if the data is important to you.

I say have a happy drive mount type of day =))

The drive doesn't spin. I already have a new hard drive and tried connecting the crashed drive as a secondary but it will not recognize the device. The hard drive just clicks. Sucks as there is information that I would like off this drive as well as I do not want to send it to Dell with every thing on there still.

What does data recovery cost? Any other ideas?

I'd buy a new one if I were cause that thing's gonna cost you to get fixed.
