Okay, first off, if yo have not heard, Sarah's husband Marc passed away today.

People wanted to donate money to her, so I have offered to handle donations for people that want to donate thru ePassporte. While ePassporte usually only allows 5 incoming transfers every 24 hours, they have graciously increased that number to 100 every 24 hours until Monday! Thank you Kate, and ePassporte.

So, if you wish to donate anything at all, my ePassporte account name is pimpspromo - please make a memo that it is for Sarah's fund.

So far I have received donations from:

My heart goes out to Sarah. I'm sure there are no words to describe the feelings of her loss.

Well done Lloyd.

I just talked to Todd, and between Paypal, ePassporte and wires we have collected over $10,000.

You people impress me

At the risk of sounding insensitive, which is not my intention, has she even asked for, or is need of, financial assistance? I think it's really cool that webmasters have come together and raised so much for someone who is respected and well liked in the industry. I'm just asking because, doing something out of kindness and doing something that is really needed are 2 different things.

I hope that my post is not taken wrong. I have no idea what her financial situation is, whether the cost of a funeral is covered, and plans were in place for her to be provided for should he ever pass. I don't need to know. It's none of my business. I just think it's kind of tacky to turn around and say "We are sorry your husband passed away, but here is $10,000 donated from the webmaster community."

If her situation is that she needs the financial assistance, then I'm sorry. I didn't read this anywhere. I have no problems pitching in and helping someone out. I'm just wondering if we are doing what it is that really needs to be done to help her through this tough time.

Sarah, I don't know you all that well though
I pray that god's comfort and strength is with you and your family.

Baddog, people in this world will sometime
in their life know about the loss of a loved one. A mother, father, husband, wife, son or daughter, friend. People we know and some we don't, but no money can take away the loss of a loved one.

I'd like to give my opinion on this matter. I think you're doing a wonderful thing Baddog, however I'm not sure posting the people's name who donated money just be posted. It's an act of kindness and I'm sure most people aren't doing this for the recognition. :)
