chapter 188. of the The Great Oracles.--Assuredly there is a better way still to read the future; at least so Greeks of earlier ages have believed. Go to one of the great oracles, whereof that of Apollo at Delphi is the supreme, but not the unique, example.

Today's Math Lesson

Rule 190 is one of the elementary cellular automaton rules introduced by Stephen Wolfram in 1983 (Wolfram 1983, 2002). It specifies the next color in a cell, depending on its color and its immediate neighbors. Its rule outcomes are encoded in the binary representation 190==10111110_2. This rule is illustrated above together with the evolution of a single black cell it produces after 15 steps (Wolfram 2002, p. 55).

May 25, 1979 remains the darkest day in American aviation. On that Friday before the Memorial Day Weekend, 270 passengers and crew aboard American Airlines Flight 191 lost their lives when their airplane literally fell out of the sky. To this day, the accident is the most deadly commercial airline crash in United States history.

Boulder Creek man gets 195 days in jail

After expressing concern about a Boulder Creek man's apparent white supremacist beliefs, a judge Tuesday sentenced the 21-year-old to 195 days in jail and 100 hours of community service for threatening a man who is a minority and for resisting arrest.

Miles Kelly, 21, was arrested Nov. 9 in downtown Boulder Creek by sheriff's deputies who said he began punching a man's car because the motorist had dark skin and then used a racial slur and threatened to kill the man.
