working music....

What do you listen to while you work?

I'm sitting here listening to Brown Eyed Girl, November Rain, Poison (Bel Biv Devoe), Dream On and Let it Be.... just to name a few.

What's your best working music?

Panky 02-23-2003 03:24 PM

If I do have music on when I work, which is rare, it's Pink Floyd. I don't mind sound or music as long as it is in the background. If I listen to music with headphones on, I catch myself paying more attention to the tunes than working. I don't hear anything anyway when I'm concentrated and focused on something, so I usually don't bother with music.

Now if I'm cooking and doing housework, or in the car, the music is always on loud. Then it's a wide range of things I'll listen to. Sting, AC/DC, Ozzy, Elton John, Rap, Dance...

The artist formerly known as Prince who is now known as Prince again?

didn't he change his name to a symbol, because his name "Prince" was owned under contract to his recording label?

I heard he just didn't want them to own his stuff anymore, so to not break the contract, he just changed his name.

In 2000, the contract was done... so he was allowed to change it back.

Weird stuff.

Anyway, classical music is fine, I have some too... in fact, I just downloaded Flight of the Bumble Bee cause it always makes me laugh (for some strange reason).

Magnus, you're one hardcore mofo ;)

house music or hiphop when working

Bruno Dickman 02-24-2003 12:38 PM

I listen to a lot of PsyTrance - 140 to 148 Beats per minute, fast melodies and layered FX... sounds coming and going everywhere, non stop :)

If you want to dig some of that stuff, look for:

ASTRIX (some good songs: visions, noise freak, kali)

GMS (some good songs: SpliffPolitics, At the End of the Rainbow)

Alien Project (some good songs: DJ Where are you, One God, DNA)

Sesto Sento (some good songs: Spank to Tor, Run on Green)

Cyber Cartel (some good songs: Space Embargo, Anno Domini)

Cosmosis (some good songs: Spores from Space)

1200 Mics (some good songs: LSD, Ecstasy)

Zorba (some good songs: The Rush, Into and thru the Vortex)

Skazi (some good songs: Passion, Cost me, Storm)

Well, basically that it! I hope you people download that stff - you might just fall in love with the style :)

Take care and Best Regards,

Bruno Dickman

I don't listen to much musicat work now that I no longer work at home, but when I do, it's usually music with some energy... Tomahawk, Fantomas, The Melvins, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, just to name a few...

-=HUNGRYMAN=- 02-24-2003 12:45 PM

I shoutcast a feed of PINK FLOYD 24/7 for any floyd fans here :

http://www.hungrytgp.com/FLOYD.pls

PINK FLOYD is very relaxing music to work to ...

StuartD 02-24-2003 02:19 PM

Bruno, did you know that the world record holder for fastest song (beats per minute) is Moby....

I'll give you a hint how fast it was.... the song is called "1000 beats per minute"

HungryMan, what if 30 of us from this board all go and listen to your pink floyd stream all at once? Won't that eat up a lot of bandwidth?

Pink Floyd ownz by the way :D

Yo Adrian 02-24-2003 02:40 PM

Most of the time I just cruise through a bunch of shoutcast streams....my fav to work to is probably groove salad - ambient trans stuff

XxXotic 02-24-2003 03:44 PM

oh yeah, gotta have some reggae too, old school marley and dancehall
