Paysite owners... are you cross selling?

Just say yes or no... or wtf is a cross sale.

I'm curious to know.
As for us, yes we are cross selling from our paysites.

I didn't know you had paysites. WTF is a cross sell? lol

Buying, not selling.

Platinum Chris 10-09-2007 10:35 AM

Buying WTS and 365 Billing only atm.

Rochard 10-11-2007 03:01 PM

A cross sale, is an offer to become a member of another site once they are on the join page. Usually in the same niche, and usually a trial membership.

We are always buying CCBill cross sales. Contact me for more info if you run teen sites.

Cross selling on a join page is called leakage. An affiliate sends traffic and the sponsor potentially steals the surfer for another site, thus not having to pay you.
Not good business, IMHO

I completely disagree. Nobody has ever lost a sale due to a cross sale being in place.

How long have you been at this kind of work?

That is a pretty definitive statement. Are you sure of this? I have been in this business at least as long if not longer than you and I am not quite sure myself. I would say this is a good topic for discussion.

Sc gives members other stites to look at for free.

I would say that "completely disagree" would be pretty definitive, yes. ;)

PornGuy 10-12-2007 03:28 PM

Yes, and looking for some unchecked ones. Anybody?

and? Just curious what you base this on. I could, should I be inclined, make a good case against this. Anyone can make a definitive statement but I am not sure what that actually brings to the table in the way of practical advice. It actually is a pretty serious traffic leak.

Cyndalie 10-15-2007 10:03 AM

It's only technically a traffic leak if the site being proposed in the cross sale is directly linked on the join page, which I have yet to see on a join form.

If I'm paying you per signup, it's not a leak. Also remember, that the person is being sold both sites at once on the same join page, they aren't taken to another join page.

And yes, we are buying cross sales (companies with their own merchants only)
