Ask a Veteran who has seen it all...

If I don't know the answer, my mates will jump in who do.

Who's first?

Evil Chris 03-09-2006 02:10 PM

well isn't this an opportunity... :)

Anthony 03-09-2006 02:11 PM

First time doing this, and I'll be truthful, except for the parts where it might get me thrown in jail. :)

What, in your opinion, is the best means of promotion for a webmaster, a content provider, and a model with their own site.

How do RSS feeds work and how would I implement them in blogs or my web site ?
I heard they are not hard to create and manage but not sure where to start.
Can you help ?

Promotion for webmasters or surfers?

Hrmm, I'll answer this the way I read it.

Promotion for webmasters...

Network... Got to a show, go to as many shows as you can. Meet everyone face to face, make contacts. Hit the boards. Find people to work with that will increase your bottom line. You sell traffic? Find guys who need it. It goes on and on.

This industry isn't the same as it was when I started. J$tyles used to harp on me not going to the shows back in the day, to which I answered, I got everyone I need on my ICQ, why do I need to go? He was right though, changes happen, and you need to be there when they do.

Promotion for Content Providers...

There's a great program that has their own day on GFY, that uses Wednesday for their Rookie Babe day. It's flat out SPAM, but it's done so well, that no one complains, and everyone looks forward to it. Food for thought, eh?

Single Girl... Get on boards that have webmasters... Read the paragraph above. Go to shows, get your name out, you have *alot* of competition.

I would start finding out what RSS can do for you.

RSS is used in BLOGS so that other blog owners can share their articles with each other.

Sorry, I can't help you implement it. But I suggest you start reading up, it's not that hard to do.

Hey Sweetie!

It's a 6 foot 260lb Gerbil btw. :)

I have a question, two fold I guess.

Where do you see the market heading for affiliate programs? More PPS or more revshare? More "silver-plater" intiatives?

And with so many programs popping up do you feel more will come or more will fail since we have seen both happen a lot in the last year?

I'm really just curious what you're doing now Anthony.

haha, shit. I saw veteran, and was gonna ask you about our war veterans being forced to smoke outside now, when they were given cigarettes as rations during the war, and fought to give councillors the right to vote to force those same veterans to smoke outside.

Since you're an INDUSTRY veteran, how about this one...

What factors have contributed to declining signup ratios even though the number of new internet users grows everyday, and how can we combat this in the future?

Hi Ramster!

I see Aff programs come and go. I know this from my own personal experience. :(

I'm seeing alot of guys staying on RevShare, and those only RS going to PPS. It's a catch 22, really.

Depending the site, you get what? 2 months? Some 1.8? What's the average PPS? 30 bucks?

I am kinda iffy if a new program crops up, that does PPS right off the bat that no one knows who they are.

I know I'm rambling, but let's face it, soon as you start making shit load of money with one Paysite, everyone knows, and your conversions go to shit. It's life, it sucks. Make your own paysites.

Bhelliom 03-09-2006 02:30 PM

With and explosion in adult growth over the last few years (and by growth i mean new sites and companies not necessarily consumer growth) What do you see as the future of adult? Where are we headed and what is coming? I mean are we moving towards more and more micro niches? or perhaps the other way and pull a wall mart style mega site? Perhaps broadband and SMS?

I think the industry is due for a major paradigm shift and the top players are going to become really big and the smallers guys are going to fade away in sort of the same way that internet providers were a dime a dozen a few years ago and now they are all run by major corporations with the money to put into the high speed infrastucture.

Thoughts?

I am learning my way through blogs at the moment.

So I'd be delighted for some pointers too

Why you gotta be a bastard Ron? I thought we were friends. Bastard.

Factors...

1. Billing, and all that great stuff we used to do back in the day, double, triple, etc. Visa/Chargebacks

2. Free Porn - Why pay? I can jack off faster off the shit on TGP's.

3. New Users does not mean bigger pie - slices of that pie are smaller, and more to share.

How to combat this? Be the guy who is there first. If you can't be that guy, be the guy who owns the barber shop, the store, the hotel, etc...

Cryptic, but think Gold Rush.

Hello!!

I agree on new programs, especially on PPS. Thanks!

Nickatilynx 03-09-2006 02:37 PM

Bhelliom,

If I knew I'd be rich/.

What to me it seems like is that there is no end of content. Every bastard with a digicam thinks they can start a website.

The key to me has always been traffic.

The people in adult or non adult that will do well are the ones that can control or manage traffic

good point. So what is the best way to control your traffic? directly throug the search engines? aff programs? link trades, exits, pop ups, pop unders, ppc ads, banners in general?

Edit: I forgot the most important one Nick..... Email spam

Anthony 03-09-2006 02:48 PM

ttt

No question small or big, I will answer.

15 minutes left.

Evil Chris 03-09-2006 02:50 PM

I have one. Will the Leafs make the playoffs?

Please say yes.

Nickatilynx 03-09-2006 02:51 PM

All of the above IMHO.

If I could get 100,000 HITS A DAY FROM tgps i'D TAKE THEM.

IMHO All traffic is good.

Refining it , and maximising it, is the art.

Historically the most success I have had was making a soup of traffic.

Blending TGP skim ,free host skim , affiliate traffic ,with SE hits and opt in mail.

Through constraints of time I let the less productive traffic slip away and concentrated on the most productive traffic.

Initially SE and then mail.

However I am slowly building that traffic up.

Another suggestion I'd make is to never confine yourself to purely adult traffic.I have had reasoinable success sending alledged adult traffic to non adult programs..

but I digress...

Bhelliom 03-09-2006 02:51 PM

of course they will.... Leafs are going all the way this year. (I say that every year)
