Internext Business 2003?

Every time I go to Internext the show has a different style. Both shows last year had a more serious tone than I've seen since I started attending the event.

What do you think for 2003?

Good question Bob... I've been to all the shows for the past four years, and I notice that shows take on a tone.
One show it was all about processing. That's what everyone was talking about.
Another show it was all about dialers, and where people send their foreign traffic.

I'm thinking this show will be about spam and mailings.

it should be about hosting ..

I would think that, after the November debacle, processing would figure large in this year's show.

That "debacle" to me seems more like a blip on the radar compared to previous historical events IMO.

Watch next week for a lot of talk about spam, mailers, and oh yeah... dialers.

"What are you doing with your German traffic?" LMAO

I've heard "what are you going with your German traffic more than once these days".

I agree with you on the mailings and spam...there is going to be much talk.

Another thing I'm noticing about the show this year is the parties. When we announced http://www.insiteadult.com/internext/trafficjam.html a few weeks ago there were 5 parties on Monday night, which I thought was quite a bit. Now there are 11! That is a big number with more than a few of them are scheduled at the same time.

Nobody has really been talking at all about the show to me, but more about what party and where.

Seems like everyone is talking about parties. I think a lot of the bigger companies will have a bigger presence.

Yes, mailers will be a hot topic many will be discussing.

Evil Chris 01-04-2003 12:51 PM

haha... Bob good point. Seems there are a lot of people more preoccupied with the parties than actually doing any business... :D

and what a shame that is.
I've been going since 2000 and I think once you've been to a couple
of the parties, you've seen it all. I mean, it's always fun, and it's a chance to get loaded and have a good time with some people you only see once or twice a year, BUT a lot of the time there are opportunities missed that wouldn't have to be, if people could focus more on biz and less on the bar.

with that said, see you all for drinks at 7 on Sun night.

I dont think there is anything wrong with doing business at parties, its a different approach. I had made some of my best, and longest lasting associations at parties ! :glugglug: :glugglug: :glugglug:

No way! Nothing wrong with it at all... We're lucky to be able to conduct business in such environments! :p

I totally agree as well. Hanging out at parties is one of the best ways to develop lasting business relationships. No doubt about that.

When I had my first booth at IA 2000 I did unbelievable business. It was worth the 5k for my 10x10, a small investment compared to the grand booths on the floor that year. (remember hanco?). It was exciting.

The floor isn't like that anymore. The Industry was so fresh back then. Everything was new. Now we already know what we are going to see. Processors, Paysites, rev-share, traffic brokers, feeds, etc...
That's why the parties are the place to be.

In the future I would like to see a combination of parties and show action. I'm looking to find some fresh ideas at this Internext.

haha Evil Chris. That is where all the business takes place. The convention itself is just foreplay :)

I am so fucking bored. Picking up someone from airport tomorrow then off to meet people!

Hope we meet.
