Men Apologize For Boston Cartoon Stunt

Prosecutors said they would not pursue charges against two men who planted electronic devices around the city as part of a botched advertising campaign after the pair apologized Friday for causing a bomb scare.

Peter Berdovsky, 27, and Sean Stevens, 28, also performed community service at a rehabilitation center in a deal with prosecutors.

In contrast to their first court appearance in January, when they mugged for the camera and waved to friends in the courtroom, the men offered contrite apologies and said they never expected the stunt to cause any turmoil.

"I deeply regret that this incident caused such anguish and disruption to so many people," Berdovsky told the Charlestown District Court.

Well, thank God these men have been brought to justice. We can't have spontaneous art bursting up all over the city causing a panic! What next??? Public readings of literary works? Poets spouting off their tomes in grocery stores? I'll bet that guy singing on a street corner is hiding a machine gun and will begin picking off innocent bystanders at any moment!!! But I'm so glad that that the city and the media was able to put fourth this much effort into persecuting these two artists without having to be distracted by the usual crime, homeless people, starving children and other "normal" events that nobody cares about.

that was one of my fav stunts over the past few years! not so much the cartoon character, but how badly Boston over reacted to it. Boston was only one of several cities that got 'hit' by the stunt, yet the only one that somehow felt it was a terrorist action...

commit random acts of art! :laughout:
