Hurricane Isabel

Anyone live on the lower eastern seaboard of the US?
Isabel isn't losing much of her power and will probably slam into the continental US sometime tomorrow they say...

Nail everything down and cover the windows!

Yes... Appears N. Carolina is going to get the full force. <img src="http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/k/sorry.gif" width="15" height="15"> It's horrible. Everyone is hoping Isabel slows down even more before landing in the Carolina's. The good thing is, they've had time to prepare.

Looks like Pennsylvania is going to get a lot of rain, but the winds shouldn't be as strong. It's a good thing that the past 2 days around here, we've been able to dry out a bit. It'll give the creeks and rivers a chance to drain a bit more too. The weather maps keep changing. At times, it looks like we are in the direct path and then other times, Isabel appears to be a little more farther west in PA, than east. Looks like late Thursday into Friday is when Isabel will be the worst here.

*thinkingofARiAandhopingshe'llbeallfine* and of course all other people... I thought the whole time Isabel is going to Florida...

Seems to be staying a category 2 but they are saying it is still a solid storm. Imagine a 300 mile windspan, that is almost like from here to Montreal! Crazy!

twinkley 09-18-2003 01:48 PM

Was watchiing the path .... even tho she has slowed to a Cat2, they are worried about storn surge and tides, cause the tide is gonna be high when she comes through, and itstead of riding up the coast, like most big storms, Izzy is coming straight out from sea :(
