I am writing a diary of our events so that when the kid is old enough they will see what we were like during this time - and have a digital copy of who their parents are. I hope its meaningful.

It will be very meaningful, believe me. My kids heard the stories of what their parents did and felt over and over again as they were growing up. They knew that their names were chosen the minute the pregnancy test came back positive. We used to describe the eldest as "a planned child who was born two years prematurely."
Recently, my daughter asked me if I'd keep that journal I've always talked about. She wants to know what my childhood was like and all the things I did and felt before she met me.
The greatest gift you can give your child is the knowledge that they were wanted.
